I have the ego, i do not have the hello 016. The hello batt is 1300mah and the ego is 650. Unless you get the ego xl which i believe is 1000mah. The hello has a specific atty that has a cone built onto it. You can use 510 attys, but then it looks like a mod. Which is fine for some people. You should get twice the battery life from the hello 016.

Well pc, The eGo has a 650 mAh battery and the Hello-016 has a 1300 mAh battery so you're looking at roughly twice the charge life with it if the ratings are remotely accurate.
The Issue I have with the Hello as I understand it is that the cone is biult onto the atomizer so if you want a cone you have to buy the Hello atomizers. That's Why I went with the Riva. The Riva is a 510 native big battery model that looks the same as the eGo but has a 750 mAh battery. At the time I bought mine I could get the Riva for $15.00 less than I could find an eGo.

I have both. My favorite is the hello..the battery lasts a lot longer and i like the button on it better than the ego. I wasn't sure i was going to like the size because it is bigger than the ego, but it has not been a problem at all...oh and if i want to pick up a few more batteries they are cheaper than the ego...

Pray tell, where have you found Hello 16 batteries for less than $15? Tasty Vapor has the eGo knockoffs and Puresmoker has the real thing for that price, but that's the best I've seen thus far. I'm seeing $22 for the Hello 16 at Madvapes. I seem to remember seeing them for $19 at one time, I don't recall where, but it may have only been a temporary sale.

The cone on the eGo redirects the airflow. Instead of drawing air in right at the base of the atomizer, the air is drawin at the tip of the cone. Whether or not that has any bearing on the vapor production is worthy another long thread. I keep it on for looks and the fact that it cures the problem of atomizer leakage - it all stays in the cone. Hopefully someone else will chime in on the Hello cone...

Ego is 650 mah at 15.00...hello is 1300 mah for 18.95 at litecig..so i am willing to spend 4 more dollars on a battery that lasts all day..So if you go by mah's the hello is cheaper..

I don't have the cone for the hello, i just use it with regular or 510 LR attys.

Okay now I'm with you, and litecig was the site where I saw the Hello batteries for $19. If you go by price/maH the Hello 16 is definitely the most bang for the buck. In my own search, I've decided that there are other considerations as or more important to me than strictly battery life.

Yep, I use drip tips on my eGo's and noticed how much juice that cone catches!! Good thing too cause it looks like if it wasnt there the juice would go right into the switch!

My eGo batts last me 2 days but I also use my 901 too.

I still can't decide. darn it makes it so hard!

One thing Ive learned in life...If you buy whats popular (say Chevy vs. Sabb) then as better accessorys become available, they are usually cheaper & stand a better chance getting updating (better batts, etc..)
Both are better than the 901 I started with, and im still happy with it!!
I'd say find what is most widely used and then go for the best price :2c:

I'm so glad you posted this, as I was struggling with the same decision. I already had/have the Joye 510 and was considering the Joye eGo when someone mentioned the hello 16. When they mentioned it they sent me a link to a site where you could just buy the battery kit for about $35 so you get the battery an atty and a charger. So I figured I'd start with an eGo kit which I got and I LOVE (just got today) and even though the battery life is more than sufficient for my needs right now (I think, like I said I just got it today) I plan on buying that battery kit when I have some extra cash and checking it out just for the heck of it. I don't mind it looking like a mod, so I don't really care about the cone, so I figure it'll just be something I can use when I'm out and about with no power source for a long period of time.

Just FYI, in the eGo manual it says that your battery should last anywhere between 5-10 hours. I started vaping mine straight out of the box and was pretty much using it as a pacifier (I can't help it, I love vaping) and it did last about 5 hours. And no joke when I say I literally didn't put it down from the time I took it out of the box till I plugged it in. And in my experience with batteries (not neccessarily with pv batts cause I'm new to all this, but with batteries in general, especially cell phones and other lithium ion batts), when they come precharged, they only have a partial charge on them. So if that's the eGo's batt life on a partial charge, I'm very impressed.

Good luck in your decision making, and I'm sure you'll be happy either way you go :)

You can use the ego charger for a hello batt. If you want you can buy a hello batt for $18.95 including shipping and $9.95 if you want the hello specific atty also.

I have both. If I had to choose one, I'd go with the Hello. I'm a constant vaperer. The Hello's battery lasts at least twice as long. It has a rubbery black matte coating that begins to come off, and without using the conimizer that comes with it, it does look more like a mod.

I however rarely use either with regular attys. I use LRs; 510, 901,801. If Hello came out with a LR conimizer I would be in heaven. As to the cones on either, I don't notice a difference with or without.
