Ok so I am absolutely loving my 510, but hating the battery life. Only been vaping 3 days and already am craving/needing more bat life. So question is ego or riva. I'm leaning toward riva due to it being cheaper, slightly higher mah battery and a better manual button, but I want some opinions. Ordering fri. Also had a question as to if either works better, the same as or worse than my current 510? What kind of battery do these units use? Lit ion? If so why does it require conditioning? Thanx for any info you can provide.

I started with a regular 510, battery life sucks. Once one was threw charging the other was dead. The ego kit I just got and can vape all day on the two charged batts. I do vape like there is no tomorrow. have had no problems out of the switch has not stuck on me once. Really i dont hear too many bad things about either one. With either one your not going to have to worry about battery life. If you already have a 510 you might want to look into a hello 016 your 510 will plug into it and it. by itself should last a whole day . Also your 510 atties will work with the ego and riva they both will take a 510. So maybe you should look into just the batteries of these three and a charger.

I have 3 Riva kits black, white and titainium. I also have a usb/passthrough ego battery. I love my Rivas, The battery last all day if not longer. The thing for me is it gives me a warm inhale like a analog. All of your 510 atty's will work with either one, Riva or Ego. I did not condition my batteries. I vaped for a whole day right out of the box and I have had no issues with any of mine. Hopes this helps

Ego is Li-Ion battery, it does not require "conditioning". A lot of people believe that info is provided with the battery as a simple lack of removing it. You can use the battery right out of the box until it's dead and then charge it.

Since the only diff between an Ego/Riva/510 is the battery and battery life, it's not going to vape better, the vaping is determined by your atomizer. Your current 510 atomizer will work with an Ego/Riva battery, so your vaping experience will simply just last longer without having to recharge.

Seriously, look into something that does not have the proprietary batt. I love my ego, but it's battery has a crappy PCB and it will protect your atomiser by blowing out first. And I hear the Riva is pretty much the same thing, just with a different button. The cone on both is the only thing in my opinion along with battery life that makes it better than a 510. I won't buy either now. Both manufacturers seem to be more interested in selling more batts than making a better battery for the consumer. I will now stick only with battery mods that take batteries I can buy anywhere instead of either of these.

Just my opinion. I loved my eGo until the more expensive batts started protecting the cheaper atty's.

You need the Riva/Ego charger to get proper charging time and performance out of it. I own an Ego and I'm happy but I do have a battery that has a sticky button. I would be inclined to try the Riva but at this point i'm moving on to a 3.7v mod.

Yes, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention, you will need the Ego/Riva Charger to charge the batteries, so get a charger for whatever battery you decide on as well.

I have 2 egos and 2 rivas that I use in rotation. This is the first I've heard of a problem with ego switch. So far, both brands are working fine, no switch problems.

If I had it to do over tho, I would stay with the ego, simply because the atomizers that came with the Rivas are different slightly from the ego.

The draw on both of the original Riva atomizers is light and very airy, resulting in very low vapor production and TH.

Replaced the atomizers with some I got from Cignot and they work fine now.

I haven't noticed any difference in battery life. Probably because I don't run them completely down. I just recharge em all every 6 hours or so.

I also ordered a couple of the 1000mah batteries and Mega atomizers and Mega carts. I have had them a couple of days but haven't tried them yet. Wow, those atomizers are huge! And the carts look like they could hold a ton of juice.

They do make adapters to allow and eGo battery to be charged with a regular 510 charger. Cignot has one for $4. They take much longer to charge, but if someone with a 510 wants to try an eGo, you can drop $20 for a battery and $4 for a charger adapter.

Thanx everyone! So much good info and opinions! As far as just getting the battery instead of the kit I'm not really all for that. Battery is 20 bucks. Adapter is 4, and the cone cover is another 4 or so. So 2 bats and the and the Prevoiously mentioned items would run me $48. I can buy the kit for about $50 shipped, including a charger 2 bats, 2 attys, cone ,and a handful of nice extras (24 ml of juice, and a nice travel case) so I'm thinking overall this would be cheaper and better. As far as mods go I still want a slick looking device and don't wanna have to sped time assembling something or paying a ton for something pre modded. Prolly seems dumb to most but I don't wanna sacrifice style. Although now you got me worried about the battery quitting due to shorts or malfunction. *sigh* I guess I'll take my chances though. Iuno. Thanx again everyone

I have both Riva and Ego batteries. The Riva has a higher quality button-that's not just something people say- but the Ego looks a little nicer with the silver-colored band. I don't really notice a difference in battery life.

The eGO is also available as a USB battery so you can use it as a pass-through while it's charging. But that one is almost the size of the mega battery.

You'll do well whichever one you get. I personally use the Riva more.

Actually you can get a mod that uses 510 atomizers, which is what makes your e-cig experience what it is. The battery just determines how long you can use it before you have to recharge. For example, Little Sister 3.7

That is the little sister 3.7 mod. It costs $44.99, uses 510 or 901 atomizers (your choice). After buying a charger, batteries, it will cost you around $81 dollars. Now, to the average person, this may seem like a huge difference in price as compared to an Ego/Riva. But, over time it pays you back. Batteries cost you $9 for this unit, as opposed to the quoted $20 cost you stated. So every time you need to buy batteries, you'd be saving $11. Basically, once you've replaced a set of batteries 3 times with this unit, it'd be the same cost as the unit you spoke of buying for 50.

But, that's just one option when it comes to mods, there are others out there that once bought, the battery savings end up paying for the unit.

I have a Tornado w/ (2) 650mah batteries. on my first charge I got 3 days of heavy vaping. After that each battery lasts 1 full day each. Can anyone who has either the Tornado 650mah battery or the eGo or Riva 650mah tell me if the battery life diminishes after several months/weeks.

My daughter got a Riva about 3 weeks ago and loved it. However, the batts both died today...that was 20 days of use :(. I have an eGo, and like it a bit better than the Riva. The Riva button is much nicer IMO, but as another poster mentioned, the eGo seems less airy on the draw and doesn't leak liquid around the atty/batt connection.
