Oh... you are talking about those eGrip rba that I bought that doesn't fit, right? Ok about that, I have a little machine shop here. But those "eGo One CLR Head" looks just like the stock CL heads, but you can unscrew them apart to change the cotton and/or coil. The R part of CLR means rebuildable.

Talking about this metal sleeve. remove it and it will increase diameter to accommodate egrip vt vent tube. Drill old rba cap to same diameter and it will too.

New eGrip's being teased on Facebook!
Looks like a thinner Cuboid mini with integrated tank.

I miss my eGrip SO MUCH I even resucitated it from my drawer two days ago, got him a new coil and all. Still underperforms and tastes like plastic, and battery power is abysmal. But it's so small and compact!

I'm ready to sell my Presa/Cleito kit and go back to a new eGrip, because I never learn my lessons.

Did you ever drill the hole in the CL base? Egrip does NOT get enough airflow to perform!

No because of three reasons.
1) I have no power tools.
2) Prior to this I had an iStick20 with GSAir atomizer, which doesn't have the biggest airflow. That's why I never quite understood the "big need" to drill holes. It was just 'O.K.' for me.
3) I retired it after 2 months of use.

However, after retiring it, I bought a Presa with Aspire Cleito, and what bothered me about the Cleito was the huuuge airflow it has, I have the airvents 95% closed all the time.
So, on Saturday or Sunday I see my eGrip in my drawer, and held him, and thought how amazingly compact it was, and bought a coil for it. UNTIL THEN, is when I finally found about the incredibly null airflow on the eGrip.

Another possible dealbreaker are Joyetech coils. I seem to be stupid because I have ruined dozens of them, always taste like burnt hell, or plastic-y. (Had this happen on my eGrip, AND Cubis).

[Should we start a new thread btw?]

Cool! Thanks for that.
It does look very pretty, and neat. I could really care less for the gimmicks (clock, game, led light).

What looks interesting AND functional as hell is the atomizer adapter. I don't think I'd use it, but I can find reasons to try it.

My ONLY "but's" right now are 1)No removable battery and 2)No gray?! :(
Should I preorder? :s

What I'd be worried right now, is size! I loved the eGrip size.
[Edit: Diameter: 24mm Width: 45mm Length: 99mm], so it's roughly 4mm fatter than the EGrip]

New thread started here Egrip II

Agree with your points. I left my feedback on their facebook page and in the new thread. Hope you will voice your opinions as well.

New member here. Found this forum while searching about the egrip vt. I had the oled before so I love the tip about drilling the whole in the base. Especially since the rba doesn't work with this model. I'm hoping to drill it tonight when I get home. I also didn't know they announced an egrip 2. What's the release date on that? And do you think it will be worth upgrading from the VT? Thanks in advance

That hole in the CL base will allow the CL coil to get the air necessary for it to perform as designed. My Egip CL was horrible with dry hits at even 12-15w when I first got it. I wasn't going to use it the way it was so I drilled the hole in the first week. There was a night & day difference in performance immediately. That was when I realized that CL coils just don't work well with poor airflow.

Egrip II news broke this afternoon and the Joyetech sites only added it less than an hour ago so you didn't exactly have your head stuck in the sand. Tomorrow is the official news release date. hipping and stocking in stores is reported to be about seven days from now if the VapingSource.com website (Only place beside Heaven's Gifts to have it listed for pre-order) is to be believed.

I would try drilling the hole in the base of the VT first (replacement CL Bases can be purchased separately at Heaven's Gifts & others so the unit can be restored to original config if it makes you feel better). I never had a VT myself, but the three people I PMd with to help them drill the hole all agreed a noticeable improvement in performance was gained on the VT that made it more usable and satisfied their expectations of how the unit should have performed stock. That way you can see what you think. Let me know if it helps if you do drill it out though. Had quite a few that I recommended it to that I never heard back from and if it does not help I don't want to keep doing it.

Lots of people are satisfied with the Cubis coils/tanks although I have heard some say only the Clapton & Notch coils are good and the rest of them including the RBA are a waste of time. I stayed away from them so far figuring they were a flash in the pan but they do seem well received. I avoided the VT as I saw no airflow improvement evident in the design and went to Nebox instead.

Egrip II seems cheap enough, airflow restrictions are removed, the Cubis coils seem like they are well received so I don't think you could go wrong with the new unit and if it had a replaceable 18650 instead of a 2,200mah fixed battery, I'd be all over it.

Figure I'll wait a few weeks and see how the actual reviews go and if a decent deal on them is made available along the way & I may pick one up out of curiosity. It is far from what I am looking for but certainly looks like a major step up from the Cl & VT models.

Just checking back in. I drilled a whole in the base tonight and you were correct, a night and day difference. Provides a much better airflow with no leakage at all. I almost didn't drill the hole because I had no spare base in case it went wrong, but I thought screw it. I was thinking of buying the CLR base since it's cheaper to rebuild rather than buying the coils for the regular CL base. Would you suggest the 1 or .5 ohm for the coils on the CLR?
As for the egrip 2 I will probably wait as well. What I have for now is working fine, though I wish the battery lasted longer. I will probably be in the market for a new box mod soon anyways. How is the nebox? I heard it had some leaking issues. Though I know the egrip has had leaking issues for many people as well

Egrip will ooze a bit from the hole if not used for a few days in a row but nothing to worry about.

CLR coils use same CL base. Get the .5 for the larger airflow orifice.

CL shown but orifice same.

You will need to knock the sleeve out of the cap on CLR to get it to work with VT. phillips #2 screwdriver bit works well for this.

Nebox heads will leak if the upper internal washer in the coil head is damaged or if charging upright with a low battery generating heat that expands juice in tank only. Both situations are easily mitigated by user. Nebox has the capacity, RBA, Coil Availability, TC works ok in later models. Nebox is more of a DTL vape, flavor & vape much better but has a plastic quality to it due to tank construction. Still hands down the better vape and you can get them in $36 range every now & then on sale.

Yet to find the perfect all-in-one.
