i wish more tanks had clicky positioning for the AFC like the STmini and the TTmini.

I didn't know that was a rare thing, lol

I'm still pretty much a noob to these kind of set-ups and the Toptank mini is all I have to compare it to. So far the Toptank is winning the comparison though, I'm about a ml in and I still can't shake this rubbery/plasticy taste on top of all the other problems I've been having with the Bachelor.

As it happens I won a Bachelor Nano in a giveaway here on ECF yesterday. I'm hoping I'll have better luck with that one but I can help feeling less excited about wining one now.

i think its too early to tell on the flavor you are experiencing. give it a few tanks. maybe another wash. i took all my o-rings out as well when i washed mine and i didnt wash it all that well. just let all the pieces sit in a little bucket of dawn and hot water for a half hour or so. swished it around and rinsed it all off and reassembled.

have fun with the nano! if you dont like it, im looking for one!

I'm afraid to take it apart again. I already have my spare o-ring in there and it has already taken a bite out of that one too when I screwed it back together again. I'm pretty sure this last o-ring won't survive if I unscrew the bottom again. I suspect it has too many rough/sharp edges that eat up the o-ring when it turns but that's mere speculation at this point.

I'll try putting some more juice through it but frankly it isn't all that enjoyable so I'm not sure how long I'll last, lol

Still waiting to hear back from the vendor but he probably won't get back to me until tomorrow. I keep you guys posted when I have some more news though. And gotcha on the Nano, but with international shipping you're probably better off just getting a new one locally ;)

This is crazy unless they changed something with the latest run.

are you talking about the troubles @OhTheAgony is having?

It's possible I just happened to got a lemon of course. Not sure if mine is from a recent batch or an older one by the way, serial number is in the 29XX.

it might be that yours is an earlier build. my serial # is nearly double that.

That would make sense. I bought at a local webshop which doesn't get nearly as much traffic as larger shops in the US do so he probably had this one laying around for a while.

Yes and folks not getting flavor, center pin issues, leaking etc.... I don't recall any of that when we all received ours when they first came out.

To be fair, mine isn't leaking and I don't think there's an issue with the center pin of the Bachelor but rather with the one on my Evic VT. Possibly I screwed on the Toptank too tight when I first got, still working on getting that one figured out.

I just rigged the center pin on the Bachelor to counter-act a possible problem with the 510 on the Evic, but my cheap little ohm meter hooked up to it just fine.

I do think I've read about problems with the o-ring from other folks too though, but I don't remember the details so I'm not sure if it's the same o-ring others were having problems with.

On another note; flavor does seem to improve a little. I just went back to my Toptank to compare it (both have the same juice in it) and it does seem to taste a little sweeter in the Bachelor now.

ive heard a lot about the o-rings going bad from ppl if you are not careful when out of the box and make sure to lube before getting everything back together.

Well, I did lube it (excessively) and I also took my time to make sure the o-ring was seated properly and wasn't twisted but it still took a bite out of it when I screwed it back together. It could still be user error or a lemon of course but if many folks have a problem with it it might just be design flaw, idk.

It's the top o-ring just above the post-screws (i know it's a post-less design but I don't know what else to call them, lol) on mine that's giving me problems.

Alright, I did some more tinkering & there's only around half a mm space between the tank & my Evic now, I'll probably be able to polish that last bit out too but it's getting close to midnight over here so I'm done for the day.

Flavor is still improving but my taste buds are a little overworked at the moment so I find it hard to tell if it's that much better than the Toptank right now. I'll try that again tomorrow as well.

I've spend so much time messing with it today that it kinda feels like a waste to send it back now though. I'm gonna ask the seller if he can send me a dozen or so o-rings and if he agrees & is able to provide those I'm going to keep it.

Hopefully I can fix the shredding of the o-rings by sanding the threads and edges around it, but I really need some more o-rings first before I even feel comfortable taking it apart again.

Thanks for the feedback anyhoe guys, tbc!

It is a bit of a design flaw.
The deck is sort of a two-stage insertion procedure.
Do not rotate it until it is seated, and make sure all is lubed well.

A very, very early vid review pointed this out... so a lot of us were aware of it, and it hasn't been mentioned much lately.
Yours however, may have been damaged in assembly.
The only damage should be user error (due to design flaw). :p

The key is Not to unscrew it all the way out.. That shreds the oring. Unscrew two turns till it's loose then pull it out. When installing, push in the base till it stops at threads, then screw in.

If you do that I think you'll be able to get it apart again. Then sanding the edges would be a good idea incase theres a burr.. I haven't had trouble with mine though installing the base like above.

I also soaked like mentioned above and had no off taste.

Thanks for the tips guys, but I'm afraid they are no longer needed.

I must say I really enjoyed vaping on this thing later last night. In total I put a good 4ml through it in about half a day, which is about double the amount I vape per day normally. I just couldn't put it down once the flavor kicked in & the airflow was pretty nice as well.

But then I woke up this morning and found it had leaked over half a tank of my delicious banana-cream-pie with the juice flow control closed and I went right back in to sending-the-......-back-mode :-x

Not sure how this happened. It didn't show any signs of leaking the entire time I was using it so I didn't expect this to happen.

But enough is enough already, I am so done with this tank. It's back to researching other tanks for this guy.

sorry it didn't work out for you, it can be a very nice piece of vape hardware. there are lots of choices out there as i'm sure you're aware. good luck and happy vaping!

Thanks!

It was a bit disappointing but no biggie, in the end it's just an RTA.

I've looked around what other single-coil options there are at the moment and frankly I haven't seen a single one that I like enough to try it so I'm just going to stick to my Toptank for now. I just thought I'd get myself a real RTA since all I use with the Toptank is the RBA deck and I've never even touched the other coils that came with it.

But I'm sure one with all the features I want will come out sooner or later & I might still give the Nano a try when it gets here and my Bachelor-frustrations have died down a bit.

I was hoping to pass my price on to another member but unfortunately I was too late, they'd already send it on it's way when I logged in this morning.

So I might be back in this here thread in a little while ;)

Until then, enjoy your Bachelor to everyone who has one that doesn't suck!
