So I have been using my EA mod for months and months. It is very easy to use and is versatile as well. But for the life of god, it seems no matter what build I put on there I get no where near the big vapor production as I see others online and the people that work in the vape shops. I think I have done every type of build there is from the Clapton to 24g macro at .3Ω. And still not the greatest production. I mean don't get me wrong, there not Kanger puffs, but there nothing I see from the other ones. And I have replicated to the tee some of the builds and hardware I have seen others use. I have been thru several different juices and some vape better than others. Ok I am rambling, lets get to it..............

I saw a video where this guy was testing voltage drop with and without a load and the mod which was the grenade look similar in style to my EA mod (Clone) and he put the battery in positive side down first.

When I put my battery in I drop the negative down to where it hits the pin the firing button hits when I press the button. Is that correct? Or have I been using it wrong from the get go?

So I used my Multimeter to test the voltage drop on my EHPro EA Mod and the battery was 4.20V. After testing it under load it read 3.24V. That SUCKS! So I placed one strip of copper foil in there and now it reads 3.67V. So its working better, but I assume it should be at 3.90 volts are higher for a decent voltage drop (meaning less of course). I was think of placing another strip of foil in there to see if it would make even less of a voltage drop.

So if you have an EHPro EA MOD, please reply to this thread so we can use this as an information for all users. Because beside the voltage drop issue, this device is hands down the best clone out there (06-12-2014)

I don't know anything about the clone; but I have an authentic EA, which I don't use often anymore. I converted it to a bottom button, after losing the tiny e-clip which held the side button together. The EA was a decent mod, in it's day; but compared to some of the newer mechanicals, it isn't a particularly hard hitter. The main reason is because it has brass contacts, which are not as conductive as silver, copper, or rhodium; which is found on many of today's mods. The brass requires constant maintenance (polishing).

I was very close to buying the original at a local B&M. But they also had the EHPro and while I do use it every day, I wish it was a little bit harder hitting. Although it does hit harder with a copper foil strip in there, its kind of a pain with the strip, because its telescopic and if you switch atty's they don't fit flush. Not to mention I just received my DNA 30 Clone and I am loving it. Can't believe I have 0.3Ω builds on there and it's regulated. So today I left the house with both. If you don't mind me asking, what is your go to mod and what mod would you want to buy next?

I also got the ea mod as my first true mech. It worked great until the gold plate wore off now on a 4.2v fresh battery I get a voltage under load of 3.54 yikes I think this.mod might hit the recycling bin before to long. Kinda sucks when I have to use I throw a kick in there but the internal resistance of the mod is too high. My contacts where gold plated stainless steel shoddy all in all imo.

I don't buy clones. My mods are all authentics, except for a couple cheap Sigeleis, which I bought early on in my venture into mechanicals. But I'd say, my 'go tos' are my Nemesis. Great mods. I'm also pretty fond of the MM Nanos.
The EA was also my first 'high end' mechancal. The biggest issue I have with it, and why I don't use it much anymore, aside from the brass contacts, is because it's huge and heavy, compared to some other telescopic mods. With an 18650 battery, the thing is a club. My favorite telescopics are probably the Roller or the 69 Mod.

My contacts are gold plated brass. the gold is flashed on there and is still on there. I bought an EHPro with the box from our local vendor. I know that Fasttech sells a clone of this that has the contacts you are mentioning. With the copper strip in mine under load on a fresh 4.2V battery, it reads around 3.5 - 3.7 Volts. I know the copper foil is a pain in the ... with telescopic mods, so I thought about adding another strip and seeing if that lessens the drop. I love the damn thing and today it was hitting pretty nice., but that lasts about 3 puffs till voltage drops.....and if you already have a big voltage drop in your mod its swap battery time.... Go figure. But I did build a dual Super Nano Coil at .35Ω. It vapes just as nice in my DNA 30 and its regulated. I know I am only getting 30 watts......lol........only 30 watts.........that's sounds silly.....you know what it mean. as opposed to the mech mod pumping out close to 60 watts on a full charge...

.35 ohm coil even at 3.5v is still pumping gout 35watts... Just saying!

After reading this... i popped out my EA (authentic V1 side fire)... Mines hitting at 3.7-3.8 on .68ohms. Albeit i have not used or cleaned this thing in at least 3 months. I'm sure i could squeek out a little more power by cleaning it thoroughly, etc. But it still hits nicely enough.

For what its worth... i lost my e-clip as well back in the day and found a suitable replacement at home depot for about .20 cents... easy enough fix.

I looked quickly one day at Ace Hardware. I didn't find one that fit properly. So I eventually got the bottom switch conversion from EA. It's actually not a bad bottom switch.

I thought about that.. just didn't like the hole filling with a plug idea. I would much prefer a replacement bottom tube....
