It is pretty good. It looks like in the UK the only regulations being enforced are from Trading Standards to do with packaging, marketing and consumer protection. They tried to use poisons legislation but eliquid slipped through.

The medicines and medical devices regulators (MHRA ? Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency - Home page) have said that traders should not make health or medical claims but the rest is not their concern at the moment. Lets hope they keep their noses out for a while unless we need them.

hi simon,

glad to hear that everything has been given the go ahead........and you are correct, it is a very positive step forward.

ive always enjoyed your service, honesty and products (especially the cigar juice!) and my respect for you has increased even more when you recommended a rival company for your customers to use in the mean time.

even when you cant provide, you still dont want customers to go without........i applaud you sir!

Is Trading Standards clamping down on everyone or just a chosen few Smokester, do you know?

They have been clamping down across the board, under instruction from 'above'. When I spoke to David at Intellicig he said that they had already been 'approved' by Trading Standards regarding their child resistant packs and labeling but were going even further with reclosable containers for carts. He said they have a new UK production and packaging facility coming online soon which should ease the bottleneck - part of the reason for their carts going out of stock was a big increase in orders as some suppliers had to suspend sales while they became CHIP compliant. It was expected that the industry would be regulated and hopefully this will be good for the consumer.

Hi Everyone

Just a quick note to let you all know that as of 12:30 today 19/03/2009 we have temporarily suspended all nictoine containing products including eJuice, cartridges and starter pack cartridges.

During this time our Starter packs will be supplied with 0mg carts.

Please note that this is only a temporary suspension until such time as we have completed a refresh of our labelling and packaging and had it approved by our local Trading Standards Officer.

During this "dry spell" don't forget that TECC is a great UK supplier too :thumb: and Jason will most certainly take care of all your nicotine needs. :)

Thanks
Smokester!

I guess the tobacco industry has their hand in all kinds of pockets!! Very influencial entity! I'm sorry to hear that my friend!

This one is not down to big Tobacco companies.

This is a pen pushing &*^%$ in Trading Standards who wants his Ts crossed and his Is dotted.

They have been hounding Jason TECC for months.
Last I heard they wanted his liquid tested again.
He told them to go get stuffed, if they want it tested they can do it themselves.
He also told them if they serve a suspension notice on him, He will keep trading until they go to court and they had better have proof it is over 7.5% or he will sue their asses.

Looks like they have decided to go off and try the other sellers to see if they can persuade any of them to stump up the £5,000 for the tests.

I do think it is good that they will all be adhering to the same packaging and information, even if it is only in the UK .

Buying liquid from someone who just puts High in the description is a bit of a lottery.
It could easily be 16mg 18mg 24mg take your pick.
