I DIY but its NETs...
heres a list of stuff required to do a DIYNET
1-3 oz tobacco 3.00-4.75 per oz
1 Bottle of Everclear 12.00 ( for steeping/extracting)
Nic base 100VG 100nic ( avg 60.00 per liter)
100VG ( 25.00 per 2 liters)

3 batches of 100ml each of finished product costs
tobacco 15.00
Everclear 6.00
nic base 6.00
100VG 1.90
materials cost 28.90
9.63 per 100ml or 9.6 cents per ml
now if I was to charge for my time at 10$ an hour at 3 hours actual hands on work time 30$
so now my 300ml runs 58.90$... add on the cost of the bottles, labels, caps... lets call it 60$ for 300ml or 20$ per 100
If i was doing this as a business, we need to add additional "profits" to cover the building rent, utilities, advertising, insurances ( which are about 4 different types one needs) and to even throw in a bit more profit to be able to put a few percent into the bank for slow times... even at 40 - 50$ for 100ml, Im not going to get rich..... any serious profits gets dumped back into the business to purchase more VG/PG, Nic base, tobacco,...etc....

so if one really thinks about the price of juice, it really isnt that expensive... yet.... just wait when the up coming taxes get nailed to the total... and the required testing for each individual type of juice sold.... you just might start seeing 125.00 for 100ml....

Home-Brew DIY Juice;
I know it's much cheaper. I know it's easy. I know it's Ingredients are readily accessible. I know it's not that time consuming.... I Get It. I really Really REALLY DO.

That being said, I ain'ta Ever Gonna Do It. You can't make me. Period.

Same thing I said a couple years back about needing or wanting more than one Device, UnReg Devices, Mechs, RDAs, Coil Building, paying over $50 for a Mod, or paying over $25 for a Tank/Atty.

I know. I'm gonna Do It.

Never say never.
heck I might make myself a mech mod someday. I have 6 or so 18650 batteries that need a use. Maybe a hex paralell box mod?
Maybe put them all in series and use a 20 ohm or so coil so I could tootle puff on it?
But not today...

I hear ya, it's not so cheap in the UK either. Average price for 30ml is around £12 = $18.86.
This is one of the reasons I want to get into making my own e-juice. I tried buying all the ingredients and experimented with some food flavors which were suspended in PG but the taste was awful - too sweet and no throat hit.
I'm kind of convinced now that decent e-juice sellers are not using chemical food flavors, they have to be using naturally sourced ingredients.
For more throat hit use more PG and buy nicotine of the lowest quality.
If it was too sweet, you need to reconsider your ingredients.
Most of the flavors cannot be "naturally sourced".

Many of the fruit flavors can be naturally sourced. Flavor Concentrates for one place.
No artificial ingredients. they were the only flavors I used for the first 3 months of my DIY. Their Watermelon and blueberry are still ADV's for me.

I was wrong. Should be "many", not "most".
But I am still suspicious seeing so many "natural" flavors.

Raspberry ketone occurs in a variety of fruits including raspberries, cranberries and blackberries.[3] It is biosynthesized from coumaroyl-CoA.[4] Extraction of pure raspberry ketone is usually 1–4 mg per kg of raspberries.[5]
...
It is one of the most expensive natural flavor components used in the food industry. The natural compound can cost as much as $20,000 per kg

Have you seen elevated prices on raspberry-flavored juice? I just do not know if I can believe in all these things.

I both DIY and purchase from my b&m. My DIY is good for fruity flavors, and I make a solid ry4, but I'm not happy with my custards. Which is where the b&m comes in. I just ordered 60ml for $40 through them. Now I like and support my b&m for a few reasons: 1) Their prices on hardware, while marked up, are not ridiculous like the Madvapes b&m franchise that I went to. 2) The staff is good and responsible. They won't sell you something that you're not ready for. No 1st time vaper is walking out with a mech. I've also witnessed potential customers turned away for never being a tobacco user. 3) They cater to me, and listen to my opinions on products. Their stock has changed based on my opinions. Certain auto firing box mods are no longer in stock. Certain liquids are. They may even start selling DIY fixins. Etc etc.

Things with custards are a bit complicated. The best taste for custards give flavorings with not healty for vaping ingredients. Many (most?) online suppliers do not sell these flavorings anymore. Who knows about small B&M?

Amazing Thread Evolution to watch unfold here,,,
What started out as a simple & sad Tale of B&M Vape Shop Profit pillaging has now been co-opted and conquered by the notorious Juice-Shiner Gang.
Damn near got me wanting to bust out some Jugs, Mason Jars, Funnels, & such and whip me up a batch.

I gotta stop reading this mess. It's contagious.
Seriously though, great Info & Intel. Thanks.

Hey now don't be picking on my tasty diketones. All the places I shopped recently for flavors offer the diketone laced Capella Vanilla Custard and the diketone free one too.
Wizard Labs, High Desert Vapes and Ecigexpress. They offer the V2 or diketone free version as well.

Do these diketones have diacetyl among them?

Put a pretty enough label on it and a blue bottle and he could get $30/15 ml.
dip the lid in wax for another $10.

Have to have a cool name too... Rancid Racoon?

Sounds like a solid business plan. I'll get right on it. Maybe Rancid Roadkill. 2% of gross sales for the name?

The funny thing is, the particular mix I was thinking about did not have any menthol in it :) I have exaggerated how bad it is, but it started as Mango Lychee. I was looking to fill in some gaps, added a little of this and that (again, no menthol or cheesecake, I don't even have any) and it turned into something that was slightly worse but okay, nothing special. I put it at the back of my group of bottles, so it was steeping. A week or two later, I tried it again and I can't taste any mango at all, but it does have a menthol cool to it. It doesn't taste nauseating, but it doesn't taste like anything pleasant either. I'll give it another try in an RDA, no way I am filling up an RTA with it.

That and one other black cherry mix that was one of my first DIY tries are the two that I have been sitting on for months. I should probably give them a final try, then toss them. I've vaped everything else to the last drop.

Oops forgot about the FW Dragonfruit and FW Yumberry tries. They were straight mixes, both turned out to be immediate coil crusters. Could probably dilute them and add other stuff, just haven't gotten around to it.
