Just got mine in today from Kidneypuncher...

I got the 1.5mm solid rope--I didn't bother to torch it at all and the taste is better than cov silica for sure!

how's the wicking? I ordered some TWIK as well as 1mm and 2mm from stormy's. Looking forward to being able to do more dry burns between new builds :)

Actually, it is wicking as good as oil...terrible.

Any thoughts? It is the solid 1.5mm, put into my new ithaka using my tried and true coils/juice and nada.

The 1.5mm solid is not very compressible, and is better in an RDA that does not use channels. I tried it in the Ithaka, and the ring pinches and frays it pretty bad when it gets screwed on. Make sure your auto feed holes on the ring are lined up perfectly with the channels, and then unscrew your manual feed (the drip tip) a full 360 degrees and you should get better feed with the solid.

I remeber that Tark Vemada on the "Rebuildable APV Hybrids & Atties R US Mod Classifieds & Trades" bought some 1.5mm Ekowool silica to try, he said it is not good.

He has now a website / store (USA) and he only sells 1mm, 2mm and 3mm Ekowool for that reason, I think the 1mm one should be good for Odysseus, Penelope an Ithaka, maybe the 2mm could work also on Odysseus and Penelope.

I have not tried the Ekowool, but I'm thinking in buy 1mm and 2mm (Hollow cord).

I had the mouthpiece open all the way and it wasn't enough. :(

Awesome.. I gotta find some in stock ekowool! I'll try the 2mm for dual coil Ithaka.
Right now I'm using 2.5mm (I believe) silica.. the coils form an X and I have one strand of silica between the coils (still not sure if necessary)

Excited to try something new!

edit: just ordered 6' from mr_wick on eBay!

UPDATE

I have been using the Twik Ekowool that is available on e-bay. It really wicks well, and tastes great - AFTER it is soaked with juice. I had an off taste to begin with (probably because I didnt boil it )- before it was soaked, but it is awesome now. Got it late yesterday and have been using it the last 7 hrs. Would recommend this to anyone interested in Ekowool.
