that looks like a good device too Chris.
No matter which one you go with, welding blows twisting out of the water, both in terms of the process as well as usage.

I think so but haven't got a paypal invoice yet so might go with the wire welder instead. Have to sell my provari first to finance it. Until then I'm working through 150 premade wires that are really easy to just grab and build.

I have the Zapper. It seems to be good but I'm failing to weld anything with it I'm back to twisting. Either the connection is too weak, like connecting at a single point or the voltage was too high it destroyed the tip of the wire. I got really frustrated then.
I had the same problem with the Tsaf. It ttok a bit of practice for each guage wire to get it as strong as it needs to be. There are 4 dip switch settings to figure out for your proper setting.

Yup same here.. getting the hang of it, though.. I'm using 32 gauge Kanthal and 30 gauge Nickel, setting #4 on the Tsaf and pulling the wires out of the clips a little longer than usual (I was doing 3mm like the paper said, but now maybe 5-6mm?)

I'm using position 3 with those wires. If it helps.

Haha, I love how this thread goes from Ekowool to Krinkle Method and now the Zappers/Tsaf. What is next, a better wire than Kanthal? :p

Update: The ekowool is now on the 4th day I believe and it is still going strong. Had some minor flooding in the car but that happens regardless what which wick material I use, the pressure goes up sky-high when I have the a/c on in the car.

I'll cover a few. Haha

Wire welder. I seem to need to have 65 to get a good weld. I've tried so many settings I lost track. Every now and then one still breaks and every now and then I need a double zap.

Twik cake today. I boiled and it's laying out to dry. But do you think I could wait? Nope. The second penny has twik and Bobas in it and I just set up the twik. Have a little cotton taste so I know that 1 I'm still breaking it in and 2 I didn't let it dry completely.

First take is meh. But I do know that have to wait it out properly. Can't wait. Juice has to really soak in yet.

You don't know me too well. My life follows Murphy's Law Rules.
Seriously though. I cut one small piece. I believe the juice is soaking in. The rest is drying. I didn't plan on even using it until this weekend as I didn't expect the Twik until Thursday. They shipped that fast.

Oh and speaking of ribbon wire. All that talk about me not daring to ask Jojo for ribbon.... I come home and hear "you know, I'm thinking maybe we need to try some ribbon wire."

I just got some 3mm Ekowool. I'm using it in my Penelope. This stuff works pretty good with no leaking or flooding. The 3mm still seems small to me. I forgot about the diameters and such since I've been using cotton wicks for so long.

I used two strands of 3mm Ekowool on the coil, while having single strands go down the channels of the Penelope.

The Ekowool I got has the cotton core inside. It would be hollow if I took the cotton out. Do they make Ekowool any bigger than 3mm? This stuff reminds me of the Chinese finger trap. Remember those?

Had a ribbon coil pop on me today. It was in a Oddy w/.5 ribbon at 1.3ohm around 2mm Ekowool. The coil popped mid way not at the joins. That was odd to me. No big deal but looking at the wick it looked great. Coated with a diy juice like normal. I removed the broken coil and torched it. It was a little fraid from the bend and locking ring. It cleaned up like new. I made a new wrap on it and as good as new. I never did that with good old silica before. Loving this stuff.

So you just did a dab and a light torch and recoiled? Wow. Can't wait to test that out. I just had a bad coil night where every setup just failed. I gave up for the night. I get those nights a few times a year. Pop the welds on older wires (the ones I setup a few weeks ago at a low V). Just a bad streak.

Tomorrow's a new day. But I can't wait to try to "recycle" the eko.

Alright guys, it's been about 24 hrs since my last post.

I'm sorry guys but I feel that the Ekowool is not for me. At first the Ekowool seemed pretty good. That was when I posted my last post.

The Ekowool can't keep up with my vaping habits the way that cotton can. Every once and a while I would get a burned/harsh vape, then I would lower the voltage...and then it wouldn't be a semi-weak vape. Based on my vaping habits the Ekowool is too slow at wicking juice...even on a bottom fed Penelope. I felt like I was trying too hard to get a good vape out of the Ekowool.

I rebuilt the Penelope six times last night using different set ups, looking to make the Ekowool work. Every build was how I intended except for the Ekowool not wicking fast enough. The Ekowool I got has the cotton core. This core is very small and not big enough to keep up with the wicking process. If Ekowool is made bigger with a larger cotton core, then maybe it could work.

I'm going back to cotton for now. The only time I got a harsh vape from cotton was when I had the juice control closed and didn't realize it.

If Ekowool works for you...That's Awesome....I know many vapors will like it, and recommend it.

I know cotton wicks don't last very long (maybe a week at most) compared to silica type wicks. But I would rather have a really good vape that needs to be changed out more often than not, than to have a semi-good vape that lasts....???...However long Ekowool lasts.

These are MY Opinions. I know many will disagree.

Vape On!

I haven't seen it anywhere, including Ebay, but I believe I saw a list of Ekowool sizes that included a 4mm - also Chinese fingertrap.

Kanthal A-1 Ribbon This ebay seller has an assortment of wire. Seller's pricing also seems very good. Ships from NJ, so I got my order in 2 days.

there is also the WireWelder, started by one of our good friends here and a friend of his. I have one and love it. He has a current pre-sale list going on now for a new improved v2

I had no idea he was making one.

Do any of you have his email so I get in touch with this guy about the WireWelder? I have registered on vaporwall a couple of days ago and still no activation.
