I have been vaping about a week. I had 2 pvs that I bought at a local smoke shop and the Pilot. They were "OK" i guess. I got my eGo in the mail yesterday. For the first hour it was awesome - lots of vapor, clean tasting, enjoyable. After that things starting changing. I started getting a plasticy taste and hot vapor. I kept the cart full of liquid and even a drop or 2 on the atty to make sure it was nice and wet. By last nite my throat was irritated and I was coughing. WTH? I am wondering if there is anyway to get a metal cart instead of this plastic. The idea of inhaling burned plastic does not appeal to me obviously for health reasons. Anyone got any ideas what the prob is or about a metal cart? Thanks!

Can I borrow your thread to list my 2 concerns?
1. last night I woke up and went outside and took my new ego with me and I have a decided numb spot in the middle of my lips - this worries me a bit
2. today I am using both my ego and 510 passthrough and I'm getting liquid - I wasn't yesterday and I have reloaded these since yesterday.... :(

any answers?

Huff,

Numbness could be caused by juice on the outside of carts. Should go away fairly quickly. Even quicker if you hydrate well.

Liquid in mouth is usually from a flooded atty in which case you'll have little vapor. Can also come from getting juice in the wrong part of cart. This is fixed by pulling cart out and blowing through the same part you draw from. If specks go flying, then that's the issue.

If you over filled the cart and flooded the mouth piece, then that would also flood your atty. Top of fill should look slushy, not puddled.

If none of that works, start a new thread.

Numb spot is likely from getting nic liquid on your lip - some people get a blister - it wont kill you btw - the nic in the pre-made stuff is pretty weak. Move the area you vape on to a different part o your lip, wipe your mouthpiece often with a tissue; often you get 'condensation' from the tip of the cart which contains a tiny amount of nic and can irritate new users.
If youre getting juice (and not condensation) it may be that your cart is overfilled - so make sure its not flooded.

OP - I cut a few mm off my plastic carts (the end that goes into the atty obviously lol) because sometimes they are a bit long and melt a little (doesnt worry me and has never caused an issue but it looks weird lol). Try inhaling more softly - new users often get wicked sore throats the first couple weeks too - drink a LOT more water.
You can also try dripping (take out cart filler and use cart as a mouthpiece) directly on the atty bridge - this cuts down any juice-in-mouth-issues enormously, and is easy to do while at home.

Thanks for your help guys - my DH is going to fix my carts for me after we clean them out. This is decidedly weird, but I've only had 4 analogs since we got these and that makes me HAPPY!

Best option would be to get a drip tip and start dripping. Easy as pie, and very clean and pure vape!

If you get a regular cartomizer, the cart part is metal.

Ditto! Cartomizers are cart, fill and atty all in one.

Sounds like a funky atomizer though. I've ordered attys from various vendors and some have had that horrible burnt chemical taste (not primer, chemical!).

I use Ikenvape HV attys and only genuine Joye 510 and LR 510s from now on without issue.

Cartomizers are cheap though and would be a good backup. You can pick up 5 packs for less than $10 bucks
