I'm about to buy an istick 40W as a third small battery backup to my two 30W that i love,
if that is a bad move let me know now ok? haha thanks :D

bought me an evicVT, the wife got a small cute TC40
I want the TC40, I think it’s a very cool device ($28)

not full bore into TC yet, I build and send her out in VW mode
and it performs wonderful...

when I play with it (‘cause I love it)($28)
I take the Ti/.54Ω tank off my evicVT
and screw it on the TC40 set to TC
it just works great...

wanna buy several, well because $28, and they just work

a ga-billion peeps own them and not a lot of complaints
compare anything else to it
(2600mah, USB charge, .1Ω, VW, display, $28)
oh, and it does TC

Oooooooooo nice move (ultra sonic cleaner)
guess that would alleviate inside build up

I’ve scrubbed grommets clean (vodka/toothbrush)
and threw a few away also…
:)
If the top portion of the grommet is burnt a bit, I clip it off with the side cutting wire cutters.
Leaves a nice edge and you only lose the burnt part.;)
I ordered a bunch of silicon grommets to replace the ones that are a total loss.

40W is a good mod ergonomically, not impressed with the battery staying power even in VV/VW mode.
It may be my imagination, but it seems less than my 30W. It's definitely not the battery length of my
50W!
But, I gotta admit, love the buttons and ergonomics of it. I am sure I won't be going into TC world anytime soon.
It does leave that option open...
Of course being me I did some research and you're not alone saying the battery life doesn't seem equal to the 30w, most seem to like it other than that. Looks like eleafs cheating on the battery capacity specs. Really would rather have another 30w but hard to find and pricing system actually higher than the 40w. Not gonna go fasttech on those due to long shipping time. I will try temp control when there out with titanium for tanks I like, not gonna ever do nickel. Thanks cheech!

You are welcome!
It really is a neat mod ergonomically, it's a bit better than the 30W in that way.
Just disappointed in the battery life.

The size is the key for me, want it to fit comforably in my pocket when I go outside to vape at work, and the istick TC40 is the smallest I've found other than the discontinued 30s. Im interested to see the new design as well! I looked at the new TC60W thats out now, it has a replaceable battery and thats good, but its larger in all dimensions and I would have to buy a bat charger, etc, so TC40 it is! Thanks Zep!

Hello. I purchased the gs air some time ago. Did a google search on it and found this forum. After reading some 200 pages of the some 700 pages of the first thread I followed over here and decided to join. I won't be rebuilding coils but will be getting the ms next. I use the istick 50w because it only needs charged every three days. I keep it on 8.5 w use 60pg/40.vg liquid. Clear to semi clear. I chain vape like I smoked and love ever puff. after a year Of duel use I stumbled to the air and finally made it off the stinkies 55 days ago. I don't think I could have made it without the air

Welcome to Air Head central!
It is a great tank for the money.
Hang on to those coils, someday you may want to throw your hat over the wall and give
rebuilding a try!

Welcome, MoonLace! You are among friends! Congrats on letting the cigs go, not an easy task. So happy that the GSAir was able to help you take that last step. Hope to see you here often and we all look forward to getting to know you better.

As usual, Doctor Cheech got there first.

40tc weighs less than the 30. It's comfortable to hold.
Buttons are good. Fires all the GS-* clearos well.
Battery mAh less than the 30 by....10-20%?
Nice mod for vv or vw. The combination of ismoka/eleaf Ni coil and this mod
is underwhelming.

Just like your vid shows Cheech, I make the Rayon tight enough that pulling it harder starts to deform the coil.

I was actually probably going close to 3 wraps and cut back on this last rebuild of 3 coils to 2 wraps with no improvement.

contaminated insulator

Wonder if the grommet is toast?
Forgot to mention, my vote would be a singed or cooked insulator (grommet) also. I remember getting that taste from evods and protanks when the insulator was damaged or burnt. Hope you can pinpoint what it is, sooner than later Bruce! :)

Have you used those grommets yet? Wondering how they worked out. As I recall they were not perfect replacements, size-wise.

They work fine and are almost perfect, only drawback is the silicon is a bit slicker and can allow your
coil to rotate if you muck with it too much.

as far as internal batteries...

the only other device in that category (IMO)
is the $10 more, no TC, way cool - - CoolFire IV

(he sez: as he puffs on his 2200 ego-one device)

:p
