I wanted to get away from having to hold gauze or mesh in place while putting the cap on.
You only have to be a little careful when removing the cap prior to cleaning to keep the mesh in the cap.
I usually use my fingernail to hold the mesh in the cap while removing it. (Wonder if a manicure would make that easier?)
I haven't had the mesh come out of the cap while rinsing and running through the UC yet. Easy-Peasy!
And I finally found a use for those darn blue screwdrivers.

Careful not to break a nail or scratch the polish. :D

I think I also found out why you don't like TC coils, With this setup all you have to do with Kanthal is dry burn and rewick, Easy-Peasy, while I have to wind a new coil since you really don't want to dry burn Nickel, or Titanium, and the cheap jewellery cleaner I have doesn't get them clean enough to re-use. rebuilding, used to be a real pain in the ....! Well since all my mods do Vv-Vw, I may just switch to 6-7 wraps of 30Ga Kanthal at 2 mm on all my coils! Though as absent minded as I am I am going to get to savor the taste of burnt Cotton way too often!

ahhh , but grasshopper - you can dry-burn-clean your Ti coils

you just need a very special tool to do so /// a device that does Temp Control

simply turn your TEMP down and push button, it does it automatically :D
you see smoke from coil, but NO red ~sweet~
I've been doing it that way for a few months...

Just used my Googlefu to check, and yes it looks like as long as it is temp controlled, you can heat the heck out of it since no temp controlled device lets you get it hot enough to produce TiO2 in other than a protective surface coating which it will get at room temperature anyway! Thanks !!

I'm unlucky with the .75....gurguline and leakage, bad too bad....
Boy, have I had the same issues with the 1.2 coils! I've also noticed that they REALLY go through some juice! With no marked improvement in flavor and temperamental performance at best, I'm glad I only ordered one box of them. :nah:
Howdy Airheads! :)
Nugget's first Easter yesterday and she loved her Easter basket and bunny from her Mimi.

So rebuilding coils isn't a high point of my week usually.

It's about par for me to have no more than 1 spare ready for my 3 constantly in use GS's. It's not Real Unusual for me to have to stop vaping to rebuild one when I just can't stand a coil another second.

I actually have all of my 10 spare coils rebuilt along with 2 coils for my Turbo Evods.

Plenty of coils On Deck.

I'm not sure how to act.

Take great pride in your initiative! :)
I seem to be just the opposite, I don't like to drag out all my gear unless I have at least a dozen to redo.
I think I would panic if I was down to one or two coils!:laugh:

You're gonna think I'm crazy Cheech.

I use my fountain pen repair box as my coil rebuild box so it's pretty easy to get right at my stuff.

I usually wind during TV commercials.

I'll wind the coils and usually, but not always get them assembled in the coil base. BREAK, maybe til the next day. Then Dry burn and ohm's check, BREAK. Then do the wicks, wrap and assembly. I kind of have to be In The Mood to do the wicks and wrapping.

I will usually do 3 at a time though.

Organization is the key to success! Or some such rot.
I have a box with dividers I keep most of my stuff in and two drawers and a shelf...
I am unable to multi-task when recoiling and rewicking. Some music and go at it from recoiling to recapping in one sitting.
The mesh makes the wrapping a breeze! That's the part I hated the most. I've installed mesh in all the caps now.:thumb:

What is a Turbo Evod? Your own creation? I'm crazy about Evods and have them 'hotrodded' a bit myself.

Our High Priest of Frugal Tootling Robert Cromwell turned me on to it.

First use a 1/16" drill to enlarge One of the air vent holes. Then rewick with Rayon. I do 6 wraps of 28 which usually hits about 2.2 ohm's for me. I keep my Evod rebuilds unstemmed. When ready to use, I juice up the wick Good, Then put the stem in. Guaranteed no dry hit.

Puts out an incredible amount of vape for such a small tank.

I used to make my coils up ahead of time
lost, confused, forget what I had in mind when I built them...
I have been all over the map

now all I deal with are these three styles

upload_2016-3-30_17-0-9.png

now when my topper needs attention, I just stop and build it, clean it, fill it
using the same coil over-n-over mostly in each device...

so just yesterday I thought I'd treat myself and bought one of these fancy deals...
