Our High Priest of Frugal Tootling Robert Cromwell turned me on to it.

First use a 1/16" drill to enlarge One of the air vent holes. Then rewick with Rayon. I do 6 wraps of 28 which usually hits about 2.2 ohm's for me. I keep my Evod rebuilds unstemmed. When ready to use, I juice up the wick Good, Then put the stem in. Guaranteed no dry hit.

Puts out an incredible amount of vape for such a small tank.

Ah OK. I'm familiar with some of our High Priests teachings. I have a T3S on the slow boat as well as a trial wad of rayon coming as part of a trade I arranged. I've taken my 1/16" bit thru all the holes in some of my Evod bases and 5/64" thru some positive pins. Was lung hitting on those bad boys until the VG started getting to my old dilapidated lungs. Had to go back to MTL.

I used to make my coils up ahead of time
lost, confused, forget what I had in mind when I built them...
I have been all over the map

now all I deal with are these three styles

View attachment 543474
now when my topper needs attention, I just stop and build it, clean it, fill it
using the same coil over-n-over mostly in each device...

so just yesterday I thought I'd treat myself and bought one of these fancy deals...

Good Lord! that thing looks like it was made to build monster coils!
Judging by the build quality of the Coil Master, that'll be passed down for generations...

How do you stabilize the pins to drill through them? Do you use a drill press?

A drill press can make the job easier. But one can easily drill the pins by hand. Secure the wide end of the pin in a vice. Using a slow-turning power hand drill, enlarge the hole. By keeping a semi-relaxed grip on the drill, the existing hole will guide the bit straight. I use only the wight of the drill for pressure on the bit. Your other option is to use a round needle file, working from both ends in turn, by rotating the file (usually clockwise).

I successfully opened my PT2 w/AFCv1 while on a business trip, using nothing but the needle file. I opened the holes in the AFC base, the hole in the center pin of the head, the wicking holes and the cap. I then turn the flanged gasket upside down, so the head cap seals nicely against the atty chimney. 2.5mm coils slip nicely into place, vape better and don't leak. While much improved, the vape is still very weak compared to RTAs. It seems to pump a lot of vapor but flavor is very muted. I believe that the attys simply can't get enough liquid to the wicks to keeps up with the additional power and airflow. In other words, these old style Kanger coils are just not good for DL vaping. They DO work great for lower wattage (10-12) MTL vaping.

The GS Air heads are much more capable than the old-style single and dual-coil Kanger heads. The GS attys are also much more capable of getting liquid to the wick. I would never suggest anyone purchase an old-style Kanger atty when the GS Airs are cheap and much better performers.

LOL! What's a Drill press?

I held the the pin in a small pair of vise grips and the bit in another small vise grip. If you start drilling from the bottom the slot will throw you off center and you'll bust thru the side of the pin. I start from the top just spinning the bit between my fingers and once the hole is started I put the bit in a vise grip so I can force it thru a little more quickly.

will just use it to make my simple single 5-6 wrap coils
a place to HOLD, then read resistance, dry burn, even can use it to vape with after all is built
kinda sorta like an old "Table Lighter" - from days gone bye...

that's what finally made me step away from the old kanger bcc style
I believe kanger engineers had the design CLOSE to what was optimum for said device

a little tweekin' improved it, but only so much can be done IMO , for me anyways...

I enlarged all the air holes and enlarged the wick slots to 2 mm and wind a 2mm coil.

Agreed. Kanger had the design pretty well down. Execution was hit or miss. The Kanger BCCs are pretty nice devices for their intended use, low-wattage MTL vaping.

yeah tried a .3 26 gauge in an Evod. Kinda melted at about 20 watts.

After some tries i've trashed my GS19, incredibly it is not a tank usable because air come in this misteriously, not the coils but the tank is wrong made, no vacuum inside, leackage ang gurguline.
One of your gaskets or o rings is bad...sorry you had so much trouble with it. :(
