... Meaning the Power Chart is still relevant, yes?
Hello Bukket! Haven't seen you in a while!
I just ordered a Sub mini...
Oh well. We'll see.
Katya,
I've had the nano and/or mini in my cart for days and haven't pulled the trigger. Please report back on what you think.
I am glad to finally see the issues move re: GS-Air tank. Posted a while back at the new member section but it is moving slowly. Now, I am able to post elsewhere so here I am.
OK, I have had this tank for a while. Did some research before ordering it for just 9 bucks.
I like this tank very much, gives out GREAT vapor and the flavor of juice is there too. BUT, at the second or third draw, I detect some kind of burnt taste no matter if vaping it at 9 or 15 watts. I have Kanger dual coil tanks and Aspire Nautilus/ET-S to compare to and the "burnt" taste is unlike in Kangers and Aspire. Since I did not order back up coils, I had to wait until I got them and put into a new coil, primed and let it sit for a few minutes and all that. The "burnt" taste is just the same as the first coil. Can not figure it out why, always at the second or third draw. I use high VG juice and even tried from different vendors. Took apart the first coil and there is a strip inside of a cottony material surrounding the coil. You can see it from those large long oval holes. Inside the coil itself, there is small strip going through it and this material is different. Not sure what it is. The itneresting part is that it did not show any issues of burn even though I had used it at 15 watts.
So, now, I am not sure what causes this annoying taste. Has anyone experienced this?
I do like this tank very much, great design, vapor, price and flavor. The air control issue is easily resolved by a small screwdriver. Just screw it all the way in then unscrew to your desired level. I let it stay there and do not bpther to change it. If this annoying taste is resolved, I am going to buy more of these. One for each of the 15+ juice flavors I have for ADV. LOL

It is relevant--up to a point. It still applies to single stock coils, like those found in cartomizers, simple clearomizers etc., which can't wick very fast to keep the coil wet at increased wattages.
Rebuildables and the new commercial coils that come with the Delta II, Subtank and Atlantis systems are designed to handle much higher wattages due to increased wicking and airflow.
Ok, Madame Siren, do tell me this: Why will I prefer this tank to a Naughty Mini?
This is in reply to those posts questioning the use of egrip RBA deck on GS-Air. I did some research on it when I first learned the coils were similar, GS-Air and Egrip. If we look carefully on the description for the Egrip deck, the base is much larger and will fit into the threads on the bottom of Egrip which is also designed for this purpose. I am sure we can not use this in GS-Air. I hope I am wrong.....
Ah, thanks for the reply Katya. Yes, come to think of this, you might be right that it is dry hits I am experiencing out of the second or third draw. That is ironic in a way since the holes for juices to go through into coil are large and that got me thinking in the first place, yeah, I can chain vape this. LOL
Seem that the filler material is wicking faster and holding back the juice before it arrives into the coil wick itself.
Ok, I will go ahead and replace to a third coil and this time, let it sit overnight.
If this issue is solved, this would be the best tank out of all the 15+ Kanger and Aspire tanks, even Subtank mini.
Wonder if the Joye Egrip coils are any better than GS-Air? Or are they made just in the same way, just cosmetic difference? I am now curious......
Is the coil rebuildable on this tank?
Good to know... Ever crack one open and look at the wicking material?
Yup. The large holes won't help if the polyfill wrap is still dry--your wicks will have nothing to wick.
You don't need to soak overnight--just drip directly into the coil head and let it sit for a few minutes. That's all it takes. Oh, and don't throw away your old coils. They should be fine--that wick is amorphous silica and it doesn't burn. What you tasted was dry coil. Just prime them properly and give them another try. They should be fine. If they are dirty, you may give them a rinse with hot water and let them air dry a bit before you reprime. I've done that with Aspire BDC coils many times.
Really?
Can't help you there as I don't own either, but Joyetech and Eleaf iSmoka are joined at the hip, so I suspect that their products are made in the same factories. Joyetech is iSmoka's distributor also. I have a feeling that iSmoka is Joyetech's "economy" line. For example, iSmoka's Lemo tank is 23 mm in diameter, which annoyed a lot of people, but that odd size was chosen so that Lemo would hybrid onto Joyetech's Evic.

If they are indeed similar to Aspire BDC and Joyetech egrip coils, the answer is yes--there are plenty of YouTube tutorials--just look for Aspire BDC rebuild. But it's not the easiest of rebuilds.
katya, Thank you! Will do and be back here later on.
Just a thought..... If Eleaf say that this GS-Air coil is designed especially for iStick and can handle up to 20W, meaning Aspire and Joyetech BDC can also handle this much power? That is, if it is the same design. If not, what is the difference in design to handle up to 20W?
I have an Aspire BDC which I replaced with BVC. Looked at it side by side with GS-Air coil and yes, in general they look similar but Aspire is about 2mm taller. Egrip coils seem to be a better match.
Rebuild these? Nah, not for me......
