I wrapped a couple of new coils with the silicone also, same thing...had a hard time getting it to read onupdate on the silicone insulators/grommets- it seems they are not as thick at the bottom as the originals, so I've had to get my thumbnail between each bottom section (head and grommet, grommet and center pin) before screwing in, to make sure a connection is made with the tank base.. I use a GSA base to test fire after the coil is done, and they all read fine, until I put them in their intended M tank base. maybe I squished 'em together too much during the lining wrap and cover placement, who knows..
just did 10 this morning, using one right now, and happy about it!
Bienvenido al manicomio, cuate. Te echábamos de menos.Si, I've mostly been lurking lately. If I hang out too much, I start spending money I shouldn't.

Looking forward to it! With the grommets and if the o rings work I'll be using this tank for some time.the silicone o-rings just shipped today from FT.. so maybe end of next week I'll have a review!
I agree and vote for Tibs' answer because I am just a rookie with the 'Airs and cannot answer the question at this time.find somebody in the habit of breaking the glass tanks and work out a deal?![]()
Option thurrreeeeee: screw the Air base into a 510 to 510 extender, which unless it's stainless, will be as soft as the Air base. I do this with all my sundry GS tanks, and see no sign of base degradation.I have a conumdrum possibly the logic here can solve...
The Air tanks have the weakness of their threads being softer than the threads on the istick.
I notice I get black gunk build up on the threads of the tank and they get looser over time
telling me they are wearing down.
Which is the better option?
Rotate through my stock of tanks wearing them all evenly until failure all the way around?
Use one or two tanks exclusively until they wear out?
What is the Air head consensus on this?
