So here's something weird. I've been using my new GS Air tank for just about a week now and I just took it off my iStick a minute ago and see there's a little pool of juice in the connector area. I haven't even been using it that heavily, so I can't imagine it's time to change out the coil already. What gives? Anyone else seeing this happen?

I've noticed this twice so far. Since I got this tank, it's all Ive been using. So I've used it all week on my Istick 30, and had leakage twice, and I've probably ran over 20 ml through it (original coil). Since the leakage isn't consistent, I'm guessing that it happens because of something I'm doing when I put it back together after a refill. At this point, I'm considering these incidents to be user-error related.

I've had it happen once and on further examination, I realized there was some cotton stuck in the threads. I've been using the Q-Tip trick Katya posted about for filling, so that's probably where it came from. I've been pretty happy with the lack of leaks with this tank, as that hasn't been the case with others I've tried.

Phil did at 36:00 min--that's what prompted this entire conversation. THere are already two thread discussing it.

Oh, wow! Not good at all! I'm just thankful they didn't decide to use that in all their tanks. And maybe the fact that Busardo did this on a video will get Joyetech changing it fairly quickly. I remember when he gave a thumbs down to the iStick 20W because it used average voltage and not RMS, plus mentioned a couple other problems. And when the 30W came out, it was with RMS voltage, we got stainless steel threads and other fixes. I would suspect that Joyetech knows that an awful lot of people watch his videos and follow his recommendations.

I think I only noticed it the one time so yeah, you're probably right and I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks for the input!

... I've never owned a Kayfun, but opted for the Lemo because it has wide open airflow potential. . .
I like a tight airflow - long, slow, M/L hits. Most tanks people find too tight I find just right (or too airy!)

...Since getting the Air tank, I'm trying to run my cleaner juices in it......and make this my out and about / at work tank. I run my dirty juices in the Lemo so I can dry burn and rewick.
Great thinking! I like my 'new' K1 for those reasons. Just not the 'ceramic' BVC.

So having seen the GS Air coils guts thanks to others here, I'm glad it shipped before I could cancel the order.
Need a tank for a least until the BVC switch to cotton!

OK. Just ordered the IJust Air.

That looks like a non sub-ohm melo. If it performs like the GS tanks, it could be a winner. Cheap coils, non aspire mystery wick and great capacity.

Weird though. These have been out since mid 2014 and I've never heard even a mention of them.

I like the Melo and the Subtank Mini but I think that I'm much more a MTL'er than a lunger. Is it me or does anyone else get better flavor out of the MTL tanks?

That's such an interesting question, reddog. From the lung hitters I've encountered (way too frequently), they all say the flavor is better.

That was not MY experience. I was so uncomfy taking hits like that .... flavor never even developed fully.

I like my M2L hits, and I'm stickin' with 'em!

Oh and one more question. Anyone tried cleaning and reusing the coils yet? Wondering how they perform after a second go around. I'm still on my first one and wondering if it's worthwhile to try to clean them or just to toss them.

The coils are sitting by themselves surrounded by the interior metal walls and are made of a silica material,
due to that construction I think that they lend themselves to a standard dry burn to clean the coils.
I haven't tried it yet as I am still working on two Airs and bouncing between them for the past week
without a reduction in performance yet.
I have not dry burned one yet and did not stay at a Holiday inn last night, so YMMV...;)

I also was pretty unhappy at first with the burning in my throat when I started to use this tank,
turns out I was trying some new commercial e liquid and it was causing the discomfort.
Went back to my homemade and was in vape heaven!

Tried to rebuild coil in torn apart one, vertical with 28 gauge Kanthal approx. 9 wraps
and rayon wick wound around coil, then replaced liner material between inner and outer
layer. tests out at 1.4.
Seems to flood out so I cranked my iStick up to 20 watts, very warm vape and lots of vapor.
Will continue to play with it and will get pics when I can...

Cheech - what in your opinion is the material that lines the interior metal wall of the coil head? I concur the coil is wrapped around silica like I usually see in Protank Heads. But what exactly is the material that surrounds the interior wall? I personally don't think it is going to come apart, or crumble or anything of the sort. But, I am no fibers expert and can't put my finger on what that is. Seems just like the wrapping material that pbusardo shows in the video. Although it is not wrapped around multiple times ....just enough to cover the outside with one complete wrap. i almost agree that it seems a bit like cotton but stronger, with a weave in it.

There definitely was no crumbly stuff. Just wondering your thoughts on it.

I can't begin to guess, but I will anyway:

This is the wrap after I rinsed it and it returned to absolute white,
I pulled on it a bit and it's pretty tough material, you can see where I got a little
to tear away. My guess would be either cotton or rayon cloth.
Here's the rebuild photos after I vaped on it a bit.

I'm sure someone will be along to tell us what the material in the wrap is and it's atomic weight...

If you decide to take one apart, I have found that the threads for the bottom of the coil fit into what I
think is an old T3 in order to hold it while using needle nose pliers to pull off the cover:

It is a lot easier than screwing up the threads...

Again, I'm sure someone will be along with an ingenious way to rebuild these things.
Just like a guy to do, gotta tear apart something that works and try to really screw it up!
