They are not. BDC (bottom dual coils) do not have any ceramic/fiberglass in them. BVC (bottom vertical coils) do.

I find it very difficult to clean enclosed coils of any kind, including new Kanger BDCs. You could just do a "wet burn." Fill the tank (halfway or so) with 50%PG/VG and 50% vodka and vape this (without inhaling) until the tank is empty. Repeat if necessary.

Dry burning enclosed coils is not advisable--for many reasons. First of all, you have no control over the process if you can't see the coils. Also, without proper airflow you will almost certainly overheat and pop the coil. And then there is always some ash that needs to be evacuated somehow--very hard to to if you can't see it.

Thanks Birdie. Been waiting for that answer. I have the Aspire BDCs. :)

I received a couple in the mail a few days ago.....these are nice little tanks for the money. Work great on the iSticks.

I wish I had one for each of my flavors! I think they are also going to help me lower my nicotine level. I can only handle a few hits at a time at 16 mg. of nic. or I start getting a little woozy and nauseated.

It is with a heavy heart that I am here to tell you that I think my first GS coil might be on its last leg. :(
The vapor is still there but I think the flavor is fading. This is the coil that came with the tank and I've been using it, not too heavily, since 2/5. I may try to revive it just to see if I can give it a second wind.

2/5 to 2/16 is great. I think you're ahead of the game.

How many milliliters of ejuice did you put through this coil? And what kind of ejuice did you use? Clear and clean? Dark and sweet?

Oh gosh. I couldn't begin to tell you how many mls. I really don't keep track of it. I probably filled it at least once every day, but it was never really empty when I filled. Probably 2/3 empty.
As far as the juice, pretty clear, and not sweet at all. Well maybe just a hint of sweetness. It's a tobacco juice that's 80/20 PG/VG mix.

So, 20-22 mls or so? It's not bad.

I always think in mls of juice used; how many days an atty lasts is way too vague. What really matters is how much juice it can vaporize before the flavor and vapor begin to diminish.

Try a wet burn--or just soak the coil in some cheap vodka and see if it helps. However, no amount of soaking will remove coil gunk--that stuff really needs to be burned off.

Good luck!

Decided to throw my hat over the fence and dry burn one of my coils that was starting to taste muted
and vapor production was dropping. I thought about the enclosed coils and not being able to see
how it was burning off or not so this is what I tried:
1. Rinsed coil thoroughly
2.Dried as well as possible
3. reassembled coil into dry tank and did short, 3 second burns while blowing into it
4. When smoke stopped coming out, removed coil from tank
5. Used a syringe and forced water into the coil, sort of a flush
6. Dried again as well as possible
I then primed the coil and put it in a full tank and started vaping.
With nothing to lose, I figured it was worth a shot...ymmv.
I also have been known to run with scissors!

Day 3:
After a shortish break-in period, the flavor improved.
Gave it a little more air too.
When the air screw is in it's adjustable area, a tiny 1/8 turn makes quite a difference.

Got the gurgles and a leak.
Like many tanks, seemed to happen 'cause the juice level got too low,

Glad to have it, but gonna be really glad when my RBA gets here.
Save a ton of $$ on coil costs.
FYI: Kayfun V4 by Tobeco - RBA - Rebuildable $19.99

I abstolutely believe in mls per coil! I do keep track (no, kids, no spreadsheet on this!). I don't vape every tank every day. I'd certainly never remember what was filled when!

So I keep track of the fills and that gives me an IDEA of how long the coils are wearing it well. I'd say 30ml on one coil is the extreme for me, but I like them fresh fresh fresh.

Anyone else keep track or have input on this?

with the 4 I have in hand, I do vape them every day, plus the eGrip is using these coils.. I keep track by days between coil changes- if I had to guess, maybe 30mls or so? def depends on the juice.. a coffee coil (7 days) isn't going to last as long as a clear hazelnut cream (14 days so far)!
