Yeah--I'm referring mainly to the type of BCC or BDC coil that Kanger invented, as opposed to true RBAs. Kanger, Aspire, GS Air etc. Same general idea.

Nope. But I have two coils ready to go. Speaking of which, I tried to Google that non-woven gauze, but I'm not sure which is the right kind. Would you mind looking at my search results and see if you can identify the correct one?

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=McKesson+non+woven+gauze&tbm=shop

I think it's this one: http://www.rehabmart.com/product/ve...cNFOMB7ETT4eq8gPEYxgoi3tJShEW_Vc11xoCRSHw_wcB
I should have looked for the model number on the package:facepalm:
I will try and find that out!

That's my unicorn build too--around 2mm I.D., 29 g kanthal, Koh Gen Do or rayon wick. :)

If you want to learn more, see this thread:

It's veeeeeeeeeeeeery long, but also very educational. :D

Tried to keep up on that thread, you are right, it is a lo-o-ong thread!

Just to add; The Wrap looks a lot like the Chinese Flat 100% Cotton Squares you see on eBay or offered on Vapor Joe's from time to time. {:{}

~ Thanks for the Video Link Cheechako! Wow, once you get that Cap off it's very much like Pro Tank Coil! This is definitely one I'm going to try!

Thanks again! Skully {:{}

You're welcome!
You can reuse the wrap after cleaning, it seems to rinse right back to white, but I use a different material as it wicks better.

I am happy to report that after changing to a brand new coil, my ADV has become enjoyable again. At least this was a learning experience; the GSA coils do not, in my experience, perform well after being washed. :)

Wonder if an earlier post was right about washing the coil having an effect on the liner and decreasing wicking?

I've been rotating through the same 10 coils (5 devices) for about 2 months- I found the "rinse, wet-burn and shake, boil" method to work wonderfully!

I always blow them out before setting up to dry for a day or two.

~ I totally agree with you. I'm in my third week of GS & Melo. When I started Rebuilding my Pro Tanks last year I never used another OEM Coil. Like others did too, I no longer felt the need for Dual Coils. Like the iClear 30B's I rebuilt them all in Single Coil Mode and found that I got Much Better Flavor, Less Leaks and Longer Life! I can see the same going on here!

I'm sorry that I'm way behind here in the Forum I'm on page 60 something of this Thread.

Came across the photos you posted on your GS Coil Rebuild Very Helpful along with your tutorial!

Thanks again for that Cheechako!

As far as your insight on the current favorite I would agree as I have put them aside for a while enjoying the GS and Melo. Though I did purchase more of the unmentioned in a Recent COOP because I want to give them more time to give a good comparison. But if it weren't for the COOP I would not step up to their price point when we have these here performing so well!

I can't believe that I haven't touched the new coils I ordered with my tanks, I thought this was a great tank from the get go with
factory coils, but recoiling has made this my go to all day vape tank now!
Talk about a cost effective tank and coils. I am so glad i took a chance and a big tip of the hat to Javamon for bringing this
gem to our attention!
I'm sitting here in vape heaven with the coil I rebuilt last night, blowing clouds and savoring the flavor!
What's nice Lost is that for what you spent on one tank and one box of coils is much less than the current favorite, which will remain unsaid so as not to incense or insult ;)
Much easier on the vape budget!

~ Hey LostVaperMonster: If you stock up enough, learn to rebuild you would be good for a life time even if they pull these from the market!

There is a learning point to it all and I look back at all I have purchased what has been shelved in my 2 years of Vaping it's kind of incredible what I've spent and how much I have! I could go another day with out purchasing a thing and I would be good for the rest of my life on what I have now! But for some of us we are excited by the New, Sparkly & Shiny let alone the Technology! But boy when you find something working so good you want jump on it and share it with everyone! I'm Hooked!

Skully {:{}

Yes. I only wish I had found it sooner. Would have saved me even more money! Now I feel like I have to stock up, just in case it becomes discontinued, or some other such disaster. :facepalm:

I don't think rebuilding is for me. I'm not so mechanically inclined. :facepalm:
I do plan on stocking up, though, especially if I catch a sale.

~ Hey Katdarling: I've seen a number of your posts on Cartos. One really caught my attention when you posted how many you were stocking up on. I'm a Carto user and have tried just about everything out there. I had real good results with the some Innoken & Boge but then I was turned on to the Original IKenvape 801 LR Fusion Punch. Man these were the Bomb but had to us an adapter which looked funky but for the performance was worth it! I never had a Carto like em but the Originals were hard to come by to the point they were getting $4 bucks a piece for em.

Then Ikenvape brought their 510 Mega Fusion Punch LR on to the scene. Way better price 'didn't have to use an adapter' and availability was good at least for a while, but quality was not quite as good as the 801 Fusion Punch then they became scarce. So I went looking again when I came across the DCT Pro Coil, Bottom Coil Tank Cartomizer. These have very little filler just around the coil and two large round openings down around the coils. These things are amazing! I've had these Coils last me a month or more depending on the eLiquid and PG/VG Ratio.

I have 4 Vamo V5's with the Old School Stainless DCT Tanks set up with these for Daily Vaping. I will take my Menthol 'It's Cold Outside from miOmi" and put the tank on my iTaste MVP or iStick 50 watt for my long days and miles in the car. Lately I've put it on my iStick Mini for in the stores and such. I know this is Clearo thread and all but thought i should share this with you. You might want to check em out.

I can say with complete certainty that with some tanks, the slotteds are just the Kat's Pajamas. (No offense to me) (None taken)

For example, when I was first using kartos in the Billet Box, the feed was minimal. I spent a good 1/2 year not even liking the vape on it. Then the slots came into being and bam, really good feeding and excellent vape.

My vliquids remain at the same percentages, so I can't speak to that from experience, but from common sensicalness, higher VG is going to feed vastly differently that higher PG.

For a true Karto user, it's always a good idea to have varied sizes in feeding ports.

But then again.... this is a KLEARO thread. Sorry. :oops:

~ I'm finding the same with High or Higher VG. Man that is saying a lot with your comparisons! Skully {:{}

As long as they stay with the same coils!
I really don't think these coils wick my 100% VG very well, but I was happy at the lower wattage anyway
as I can't vape PG for any length of time.
It's nice now to crank up the watts and let the vapor fly with the rebuilt coils!
I'll say it again, I have been happier with these Airs than I was with my Russian, Fogger and RDA.

~ I keep seeing all you folks talk about all the dollars you are saving over the cigarettes that you were paying out for, which is a Great Thing That You Quit Smoking and Saved all those Funds! I can't use that excuse! I quit smoking 13 years ago but never lost the desire to smoke. But I Promised My 3 Daughters I would never take it back up. Then I found Vaping! Well, at least I Can Keep My Promise to My Girls! And now I fill that desire to smoke with this Much Healthier Addiction but at a Huge Draw on My Wallet! But Hey, I'm Not Smoking!

Lost; you've already seen it add up! Plus I've seen a couple of your posts were you are planning on exactly where those Ex-Cig funds can go now! And Good For You! One thing We All have here over others is this Forum to help us out, make friends, learn about our new addiction, help each other, save money and the Biggest thing Havin Fun! Skullman {:{}

Yes, I can see it now. Computer went wonky for a minute. :blink:
I haven't been quit long enough to save that much yet.

That's exactly why I stuck with the Mini Protank for so long, wasted a lot of money on the "flavor" of the month.
Ooooh, a new clearo that will create more vapor, taste better, wash my car and scoop the litter box for me!
Where do i sign up!
Enough of that stuff, can't believe I took a chance on this Air clearo. If it had been a nickel more I wouldn't have.
And my banner says I have saved $5,541 since quitting smoking, Woo-Hoo!
