ive been using the airs for a couple months now but thinking of getting a subtank mini anyone used both and can give comparisons? thanks

I use both, and I think both have their place. The airs have ease of use and great flavor. They are the tanks that I take with me when I go out, and hold my adv. The subtank mini (and nano) I have both, have thicker juice in them, and I use them mostly at home when I want to relax and blow big/thick clouds. It is NOT a cloud machine, but compared to nauty minis and gs airs the vapor is much denser, a bit warmer (I still can't vape over 25 watts), and tastes great if not wide open.

I don't think the subtank is a must have, but I enjoy them. The new ones being released with the "sub-box" have different afc and they are supposedly designed for a tighter draw for those that want to mouth to lung hit.

Still feeling humbled by the multi-page gusher of coil lore—all over my head—I offer further musings about The problem of the Modern Age, a.k.a., coil pop. We have had quite a few good theories proposed, all reasonable, and nearly all not easily subject to
testing. So here is yet another, which you may test:

Yesterday I alternated 4 tanks, including two GS Airs, and M, and an Ms. As at (the silly way accountants write as of) the happy ending of last night's baseball games, none was popping. The Ms coil had been making wisecracks and thunks and pops when new, at 1.5 ohms, but after a few days' use had gone to a quiet 1.7.
It was a dark and stormy night, and cold. This morning at first light I arose to feed the mongoose, brew coffee, and try to think of a good excuse to avoid going to work at the book shop. I vaped. All four rigs—three istick 30s and an itaste vv3—with the toppers listed above produced loud popping sounds!

At first I thought the mongoose had burped, but no, it was crackling coil noise.
Eureka! I thought. Temperature differential between juice and coil. I'll file that under
Maybe and wait for peer review. Since I got back from work, the house and tanks have warmed up and gone quiet except for the customary whistle.

As the youngunz say, "chill, bro". You could put your tank in the fridge for ten minutes, then try it. You have a cooler big enough to consider "vaping in the fridge"? Didn't know they had those for residential use.

Yesterday reading about the egrip oled was great enlightnment. One is on its way, I think it'll be like carrying an iStick and a Air GSM.

The subox tank has a somewhat restrictive air flow, much like a GS Air new fully open. It's still too much air for me, I stick to the Nautilus and the GS.

I'm amazed at the wattage these GS coils can handle. Right now I'm vaping at 16W, no sign of dry hits. Vaping it at 10w is so weak it's unbearable.

I find ALL coils have a break in period. I generally vape low the first few tanks then crank it up. This GS head I have on now has been washed three times by now, and it's cruising quietly at 1.6 ohms, 16w on an iStick 30. No cracking or popping, and temps here are mild (around 60F) so I don't think temp is to blame. Also flavor is starting to flourish, brand new I had no taste.
