That's sounds like the start of a very interesting story...

Better than my award winning effort? Nah, he was a great guy. Smoked like a chimney. I wonder if he's a vaper now! People were practically crawling over themselves to give him {otherstuff} during the show. I ended up, later, losing him as a friend. Ahhh, youth!

Finally got off the fence and ordered a couple of GS Air-MS tanks and a pack of replacement coils. THEN I read that all-cotton coils are coming out (I hate the taste of silica wicks). :glare: It's never easy, is it?

They're an island away as I write and should be here tomorrow. Hope they're at least 80% as good as some of ya'all seem to think they are.

I'll try the coils as they are, but I'm looking forward to doing a Cheech-build! (Errr...with Japanese cotton, though...)

I'd love to hear how the cotton is. I only have a small supply of rayon that is almost gone. If the cotton is no good, I'll go to Sally.

Welcome to the Air heads!
If you find them 80% as good as we crow about, you're in for a treat!
I rebuilt some with Japanese cotton, it can be done!

Anyone using the 1.5 Ohm coils with a 20w iStick? Just wondering whether the iS 20 fires too hot at its low end for the MS stock coils.
1.5 is fine with the 20W, might have to run it a bit lower.
It's all I had for a while, very happy with it.

I am! I have been having this problem intermittently. I don't particularly know the cure, however, if there is one. I asked a question to our experts about this very same question recently and never received an answer :p

so Cheech, from what i'm reading, the Home Depot excursion was a bust?

I'm really hoping these insulators work.. as previously mentioned, I wrap to 1.2ohms and vape as high as 15w with these things, taking 5 second drags.. the rubber ones are getting marred and charred!

but I definitely need more o-rings too! silly me was clamping tops to bottoms without taking them off first.. a few are pretty sad looking, and as much as I refuse to use them, I refuse to throw them away until I have replacements!

PS- I realize this makes me not a Tootle-Puffer.. please don't banish me! I like you guys too much..

Sorry for the long post

Has anyone has their original GS Air threads strip?

I only have an iStick 30w to test the tank on. It was working fine then it started the have a little wobble when tightened...now it wont thread on at all.

I don't know if it's the tank or the iStick. The EGO adapter threads on the iStick perfectly so I'm assuming it's the tank.

my question is---is this common with these cheap tanks? I was going to purchase a new GS AIR M and don't want the same problem after a month or two.

Is the base of the GS AIR M compatible with the original GS AIR? I ask because the tank works perfectly if it would just thread on.

I also tried to thread it on to the inside of the EGO adapter tip and it threaded once(not very well either) but now it won't.

I think I ruled out the iStick as the problem. Right now I'm using Aspire EGO CE5 clearomizer with the EGO adpater and the iStick works fine.

Speaking of wasps, I just hosed off a mud dauber nest over my front porch light. Along with the expected mud and wasp larvae there was a number of dead spiders. Mud daubers feed spiders to their young! So if any of y'all are having a spider problem, just get yourself a bunch of mud daubers! Good idea? Maybe not...

While I was thus engaged Godzilla (pictured to the left) made an appearance. He climbed halfway up what was my papaya tree and gazed sadly at the crown which he has reduced to a sharp, bare point, before shuffling off. It was a male tree, so it would never have born fruit, but I did enjoy watching the humming bird moths that fed on the flowers at dawn and dusk.

One of my co-workers is coming over tomorrow to learn the care and feeding of his eGo One CLR coils. My workplace is becoming overrun with former smokers tootle puffing on GS Airs and eGo Ones.

The iStick 20w is known to fire hot - especially at its low end and especially on lower Ohm coils - mostly because it's power calculations are done differently than most other current APVs. See Phil Busardo's YouTube vid for more info:

That said, it works well for me with coils - rebuilt Mini Protank and small drippers - built between 1.8-2.1 Ohms.

Those problems were eliminated in the iStick 30w.

Generally the iStick threads strip, which is why so many people use an adapter and screw the tank into that. I have been using the Airs on eGo One batteries for a couple of months with no threading issues at all.
