Generally the istick threads strip, which is why so many people use an adapter and screw the tank into that. I have been using the Airs on eGo One batteries for a couple of months with no threading issues at all.
The iStick 20 threads were (are) soft, but the iStick 30 threads are stainless (I believe). I've never heard of the iStick 30w threads stripping.

so Cheech, from what i'm reading, the Home Depot excursion was a bust?

I'm really hoping these insulators work.. as previously mentioned, I wrap to 1.2ohms and vape as high as 15w with these things, taking 5 second drags.. the rubber ones are getting marred and charred!

but I definitely need more o-rings too! silly me was clamping tops to bottoms without taking them off first.. a few are pretty sad looking, and as much as I refuse to use them, I refuse to throw them away until I have replacements!

PS- I realize this makes me not a Tootle-Puffer.. please don't banish me! I like you guys too much..
It was a bust...but did determine the inside diameter needs to be 7/32", but the ones I bought were 11/32 outside diameter and 1/16" thick...
So they fit, but they were too thick and too fat to screw the coil into the base. Lynn said she would mic the stock o ring in order to determine
the correct size. We'll whip this problem and beat it like a circus monkey!
I have not noticed a chronic problem with hot legs on these...do you use micro coils?
Use the tank like I did in the video to press the caps back on and it will save your remaining o rings!:)
Hardly ban you for that, I run 15 watts standard on my 1.5 rebuilds. Can't imagine anyone getting banned out of this group.

Sorry for the long post

Has anyone has their original GS Air threads strip?

I only have an iStick 30w to test the tank on. It was working fine then it started the have a little wobble when tightened...now it wont thread on at all.

I don't know if it's the tank or the iStick. The EGO adapter threads on the iStick perfectly so I'm assuming it's the tank.

my question is---is this common with these cheap tanks? I was going to purchase a new GS AIR M and don't want the same problem after a month or two.

Is the base of the GS AIR M compatible with the original GS AIR? I ask because the tank works perfectly if it would just thread on.

I also tried to thread it on to the inside of the EGO adapter tip and it threaded once(not very well either) but now it won't.

I think I ruled out the iStick as the problem. Right now I'm using Aspire EGO CE5 clearomizer with the EGO adpater and the iStick works fine.
My tanks wobble a bit but still screw in securely...as IMRs said, the 30W has stainless steel threads.

My threads are still like brand new on my 20's. It just depends on how careful people are screwing them in. You can strip stainless steel if you're not careful. Just sayin'. btw.. That was jumpin in that mentioned they were stainless Cheech. :)

Hey, um..., hey!, ummm, hey?

I was, at first, using my thread cover from my nautilus. Then I got a bending adapter! Works great! And (maybe! fewer!) no double entendres!

Yes, with the Nauti's, you need to be extra careful putting them on the 20's. They're heavy and the threads fit a little too snug on the iStick20. I seriously think that's where everybody was having the problems because at first, that was the preferred head, for the iStick.

Well, so, I have my new OCC! (OMG!) Head for my Nautilus! And I'm gettin' ready for my next build in the magma. I say .0006 this time! Or not. .16 feels so much more like home:)

Whadderyeronn about? I gave up trying to herd cats decades ago. :p

Just stay between the straight and narrow lines and you'll be fine.
