Which one did you get? I have the Kuro and, honestly, I can make coils now with my eyes closed... And I use the 29 and 28 g exclusively. Takes a little practice maybe--don't push too hard, just enough to keep the coils touching, finger tight.

Nothing wrong with the needle, BTW. I just find the coiler ridiculously easy.
It's a coil meister? I think...

It's basically the same principle. You just have more rods. Don't give up. Start with the 28g--it's easier. Make the first wrap by hand (to be unwrapped later) and then just let the gizmo do the work. Don't push on that top cap too hard and go slowly--you'll get it eventually. Promise.

No torching, no pinching--just clean the wire with alcohol before winding (Isopropyl is fine), and then gently pulse the coil a few times til it glows uniformly from the center out.

Thank you, Katya. Between you, Lynn and S.d for inspiration, and the Zen CoilMaster of the desert for instruction, I might be getting close to falling to the dark side. And then Bike can explain what I've done wrong! And why!!

Isn't nickel much harder to wrap than kanthal???
The annealed is unless according to alden, you do something to it. Supposedly, the tempered is more like working with Kanthal. I bought both so we'll see. Hope for the best!

Thanks Katya! I had watched one by SuperX and he whipped through all that! I'm going to use it to wrap my nickel coils.
You need to make spaced coils with nickel. Wrapping on a machine screw might help get even spacing but you can do it on the coiler and then open it up.

Ok thanks! If I can't get the danger thing to work I'll probably be back winding on the 16 gauge needle or a 3mm screwdriver. What size machine screw?

I would try a 6-32 and see if you like that. Are you using a VT?
(Avoid the danger thing)

Mamma mia, ma che bella serpentina!

Dayum! Had I watched coil rebuilds in Italian, I may have become a RB'er!!!!!

Boom~~

Oh, my bella Italia!

My favorite comment about the GS Air: "lo trovo un'ottima via di mezzo tra la quieta armonia del Nautilus e l'arroganza sborona dei Subtank"--I find it to be the great middle way between the quiet harmony of the Nautilus and the arrogance of the Subtank!

I love it! I just love it!

Boom!
