Lol no way. First of electrical engineers don't check wiring, they design circuits, blue prints, things like that. Journeyman are the ones that install wiring, check it etc. Source; My Uncle is a maintenance electrician at Ford's Flat Rock plant. It's more likely surges, bad power supply's in the tv, or the cable company isn't grounding the service properly. Generic tv's are total junk btw.

odd.... my issues with TV/monitors is the screen on both go wacko...
the monitor turns blue ( as in all white tones go blue) but a good solid wack on the top of it brings it back around to normal function...
The TV looses its clarity on the right side of the screen when first turned on, but after an hour or so of being on it warms up and then behaves "normally", every so often it will revert back to its 1/2 screen clarity. As previously stated, a good resounding wack to the case makes it clear up....

Im thinking there is obviously a connection issue with the signal processor to the screen matrix ( lcd film)... probably one of the ribbon cables has some connectivity failure and the application of a wack resets the connector untill thermal expansion and contraction loosens it up once again... if I leave the TV on all the time, it stays clear with no 1/2 screen malfunctions....
Sounds like the magnavox I used to have in my bedroom but it was like 50 years old lol had a turn knob it used to do that with the picture until it didn't finally just went out

Good info, I don't know too much about electronics.

Just "witnessing" it made me rethink about "quality"

mod, on/off, in use or not, just puts off noise thru my stereo. Even if the stereo is running audio from an auxiliary cable, I still get the interference.

Scary LOL
Not scary at all read Mike's reply to your comment again and you can solve the problem when I used my old vacuum it interfered with the radio and television output things are going to cross frequency at times is just a part of life.
