When I bought
Have tried engineering guys changed everything just to make us happy

We also have expensive surge plugs with warrantys etc
my tv a few years ago, the place refused to sell it without a big surge suppressor thingy.

I notice I do get lots of clicks and switching lights on that surge suppressor thingy; certainly for example whenever I plug in my kettle to make a cup of coffee or turn on my microwave oven

I wouldn't think TVs are that fragile. I built my own PC years ago and it sits in my office, where I spend most of my waking day working on it, which means I also vape, with my large clouds mostly going straight at it and towards it's vents. Sure, it might need a little extra scrub on clean up day but other than that nothing's changed. My TV hasn't gotten worse than it already was, and I'm not having any issues with any of my electronics in the house or car (Prius) where I blow significant clouds with the windows up.

I'd keep looking for the problem. Maybe it's the wiring if the outlet was replace, or something else along the line. Also just the fact that a lot of times, .... just gets to you broken. When I built my PC I thought I was doing something wrong, had a tech come and check it out for me and it was just that my power supply came DOA. With items like that, going to a different brand won't really do much, as it's the same chance with any brand. Dead or dying item just got through to the sales floor.

Let me see. Vegetable Glycerine is in vapor. VG is hygroscopic. I would imagine vapor would remain hygroscopic even after being exhaled. So vapor is attracting both dust and water in the air. In an area with temperature fluctuations, vapor with attracted water and dust could easily find their way into electronics which would explain why there is vapor and moisture build up in around my PC. So I can imagine that vapor does shorten the lifespan of electronics after a while.

There are tv sets in most vape lounges, if this was truly an issue, you would think they would notice it first. Not that it would improve their business if they told you that, but, still you would think some one would have said something by now.

After reading haunteds' post, hmmmm, maybe, but still I don't think these issues are related

This is by no means confirmed but since I started vaping I have two new TVs go with the exact same issue in the space of 6 months no pictures but sounds

Tried everything had electricians out Sky TV engineers etc as I thought I must have had surges causing the issue

Now since I have tv number 3 under warranty I'm yet to have any issues but I have started vaping at the door and not in the living room

Anyone ever experienced anything similar?
You won't / cant get surges to just one circuit, the surge will come from either a faulty ground coming from the main service outside or the street transformer that supply's yours and your 50 neighbors is old and putting out unstable voltage, it happens all the time, damaging motherboards first / microwave / tv / oven / refrigerator / washer dryer in which your lighting would be fluctuating up and down, ask your neighbors if they have had any problems, if so it's totally on your power company (not cable company) to reimburse you for damages and then of course there's lightning. as far as flat screens go, I've had 2 outside for two summers, one at the hot tub, one at the pool with just a little coverage, 90 - 100 % humidity all summer and dew accumulation in the morning's, pg/vg are non conductive unless accumulating mineralized water to it, you would have to be blowing directly in the back vents day in day out for months for any kind or accumulation and even them it would be a minuscule amount because of evaporation not to mention ALL my electronics including my tv in my home office that are right next to me, would have stopped working by now .........
I do advise most homeowners to invest in a whole house surge arrester and for your low voltage internet / cable, it's cheap insurance if you own expensive electronics.

I know that but that was only one of the checks we had the housing electrians come out too

My hands are pretty much tied there as I don't own the house

The power company doesn't care if you rent, you have them come out and check the line or ask the owner and tell them you've had damages and would like it looked at by the power company NOT an electrician .........

There were several TV mfrs that got a bad batch of capacitors (from Korea?) some time ago. There are people selling kits with the correct caps for different TVs. I replaced the relevant caps in my friend's LG TV a couple of years ago and it's been going strong ever since.

It's a long shot since you mention different brands, but it is still possible. Googling your TV model would probably bring it up.

I had one of those TV's. It was a Samsung, bought the kit and couldn't get the dang board to go back in correctly. Those Koreans must have some very small hands to assemble this stuff.!

Troll... No

Advice needed yes

Peoples thoughts needed yes

Since you are in the UK and the Highest reported rate of E-cig Related Fires is in a single town in the UK..............(Fact)

Seriously, I would be concerned with line spikes. Not VG

I would suggest, if you are not using a quality surge protector, you invest in one.

The issue could be 2 fold. Amount of line variance and quality of component design in the chosen brand. - i.e. another Brand may not show the same results.

* Noted you said 3 different units. Always Video side. While it could be main line related, I would more suspect your Cable techs are lacking and it is voltage on the cable line taking out the video.

Any signs of picture quality fluctuations before Failure?

You just reminded me that I lost the power supply in my Samsung last year. I could not identify a cap kit for it ('twas a Best Buy exclusive model).
