My neighbor's kid has just been put into ICU because they used an over-the-counter black soap that seems very popular in the organic community. For this child it has been life threatening. At the very least, he will be looking at some skin grafts. :(

My apologies for not being silly, or having even a shred of silly right this minute, but Race's post led me to question......

What IS this o-t-c black soap so infamous in the organic community???????

Inkwiring minds, and all that there.

Hi guys, I started vaping about 7 years ago and I got ticketed for 85 in a 70 over the weekend. Have you guys experienced this? The guy at the vape shop near my house never told me vaping would cause me to get speeding tickets. I think I might be safer by going back to cigarettes.

Cop pulled you over because he thought you were on fire. The speeding thing was just to cover up the stupid.

I didn’t have grandkids until I started vaping, now 3...

Could it be?

@Racehorse , I agree with your sentiment and am sorry to hear about your neighbors kid, hoping for the best in their case. It is funny, however, that people are quick to blame vaping and not (in my case) 27+ years of smoking beforehand.

Those grandkids though...

Congrats on your grandchildren! Enjoy them!!!

I agree that people will "blame stuff" on whatever is convenient to their "idealogy" sometimes.

Personallly, I try not to "politicize" my health. It's too valuable to sacrafice to any kind of agenda. I try to keep an open mind and do what my intuition tells me is good for ME.

I think everyone should do that. I don't tell other people how to live when it comes to their health. I am older and I know I shouldn't eat fattening stuff, but heck, I ENJOY my 2x a month ice cream cone with the high fat content, and I'm going to keep eating them, even though I know I can be more disciplined w/my diet. :)

But I also think it's not appropriate to discount other people's experiences. If somebody says x,y,z happened to them, then I let them be. I have no agenda that I need to "put" on other people, even though I have very strong beliefs for MYSELF (i.e, I like organic food, clean simpler personal care products, etc.) but I don't tell other people what to use or do. I think allowing others to do what they want is part of respecting others.

And yes, I agree that we are not being respected as vapers...not respected for the choice we make.

But I'm not a proseletizer type.........if somebody asks me what I eat, if I vape, or what I put in my hair, I will share it. If they don't ask, I don't push it on them and I have no real inclination to tell others how to live. If THEY want to improve their life, then they will eventually find a way to do that, right?

I hate it when people give me sermons about all the things i should be doing, esp. the MLM marketer/salespeople who are always trying to sell me supplements, vitamins, special foot baths, hemp oil WHATEVER!

I *did* personally feel that smoking was very bad and that when I got some colon cancer that had to be cut out I just decided it was possibly smoking related, so I started vaping. These are all personal decisions!

I wouldn't call this extreme defensiveness, but in all fairness diets and hair care/personal hygiene products and the like aren't under constant attack by BIG money special interest groups with an ally like the FDA. SO....when there is a "hit and run" new poster, it does come across as suspicious....quite suspicious indeed :glare:

The personal care products stuff is a $ trillion dollar industry, they are fighting it out all the time, trying to get to your wallet. I'm on forums where cosmetic scientists and consumers are arguing about ingredients, what stuff are endocrine disrupters, what ingredients are formaldehyde releasers, which clays have been tested for lead, etc. There are huge databases that all have their own "agendas", some are govt' (NIOSH, OSHA) some are industry based (EWG database), and some are lifestyle/personal beliefs based (Leaping Bunny, Cruelty Free Kitty).

Just believe me, if you are not "in" those circles, you wouldn't know. It's at least, if not more, chaotic, money-grubbing, and political as anything else. :)

When different fractions are competing for your $ dollars, it can get real ugly. This is just a fact of life, whether it's vaping or anything else.

Hi I desperately need help!!
I just started vaping and every night when I sit back to watch tv, something strange happens.
It all starts out good, I'm sitting there, tv is on, I pick up my vape and take a really big puff, and exhale... And and then the strangest thing happens, I CAN'T SEE THE TV ANYMORE! Could this be vaping related? Am I going blind? It goes away after a few seconds, but I'M SCARED! Help please.

And I've been looking every for some new "coils"? and juice for my vape.
I use 72mg unflavored vg in my JUUL, and I've been looking for some new thing I heard about, a wooden coil pod. Are those good? My friend said he loves them.

Thank you and goodnight.

My wife and daughter use African black soap to help control blemishes. But, they get it from reputable dealers and dilute it to 10% in a bottle.

I don't really know all the ins and outs about it, but my wife is an RN and a pagan witch.
