I recently purchased this starter kit:
Joye 510-T electronic Cigarette

The price was super cheap, but it's not useable. I suspect it's a clone. I'm not against clones, but this one came with underpowered batteries. I compared this "510 T" to my 510 and noticed subtle differences in the switch center crease, and the height of the switch on the battery. When I tested these batteries on my 510, I noticed that they didn't have the power to vaporize the juice.

That having been said, it's also true that I can't be certain that my 510 is not a clone. What I do know is that the 510 T I purchased at the link above, is not useable due to it's weak batteries.

Some manufacturers caution against buying asian units. I bought this unit from a US distributor. Be aware that all ecigs are manufactured in Asia; hence: you can easily purchase a poor clone in the US.

    in a cave, eh?
Even the clones have the power to vaporize your juice. Something else is going on. It's possible the batteries are no good, but I would check to make sure they're making a good connection with your atomizer, first. Try popping up the center post in the middle of your battery with a small screwdriver. You also want to make sure the threads around the battery are clean.

If one of your kits is clone, it's also possible you have a charger with reversed polarity. Make sure you use the charger that came with your kit. If you swap chargers, and you've got one of the clones with reversed polarity (i.e. FS 510 or Blu), then the charger can kill other batteries.
