Hi All,
I'm thinking of how I can cut down on fogging up my home office. I work in front of a PC most of the time and sometimes I fog the room up pretty good.
I imagine it can't be great for my pc.
I've been using a hepa filter air cleaner but to be frank, it doesn't do a very good job.
I've read that vape shops use commercial grade electrostatic air cleaners and I'm considering getting a consumer model from BestBuy or Amazon. They run about $200.
Was wondering if anyone has given one a try and if they actually work.
Any other tips that you folks use to keep your vape area fog free?

Thanks

They work very well, my house I've got 3 electrostatic filters connected to the HVAC system, one large main center house hall, and 2 smaller ones in the master bedroom and laundry room. When the unit kicks on the filters kick on, but this type word of warning, any humidity (this includes vapor and air from taking a hot shower) they go off like snap crackle and pop the whole time, then when dirty they snap and crackle more than usual signalling cleaning. The main is near my computer room, and I have to clean it monthly due to the VG build up. A stand up one, you'll be cleaning the filter grate once a month as well.

So I've been using a Honeywell - AirGenius 5. It uses a permanent washable filter that filters down to as 0.3 microns. It also has a washable prefilter for catching large particles like dust. I've been vacuuming it every couple of months. Tonight I noticed it was really difficult to vacuum clean and upon closer inspection I could see there was a very sticky build up of VG on the prefilter and main filter and the dust was clumping up on it pretty severely. I washed the filter and pre filter in the sink to get them in "like new" condition. I also wiped the inside of the unit and as I did so I noticed puddles of what looks like VG accumulated on the bottom and underneath the base of the unit. So it looks like it has been doing a much better job of removing vape from the air than I had thought. Going forward I guess I'll need to give it a good monthly cleaning as suggested. I'm going to plan on doing some heavy vaping tomorrow and see if the unit can keep up. If it can't keep up then I'll most likely invest in a secondary unit as well and give the electrostatic type a try. This was a real eye opener.
Lesson learned, much cheaper in the long run to clear vape with an air purifier than deal with failing PC equipment. :)
