Hello,

*I emailed Cig-Easy but I thought I would post here as well*

(Side note - Just started using PV's again after a while, good to be back.)

I recently purchased an Elite 808 Starter Kit and a box of the Elite Clear and Easy Tanks. Upon arrival I filled up one of the C&E tanks and started using it. It was rather nice and I had no issues until the battery ran out on both during this time I did refill the tank once. Upon recharging the batteries the C&E tank started to taste burned. I think I remember reading somewhere that a new off the charge battery may provide to much power and that it might burn the juice. So I filled and used one of the cartos that came with the unit. Everything is running really well and tastes great. I tested the tank a few time again at a two light indicator on the battery and again at a one light indicator on the battery to no avail. The tank still tastes burned. I am assuming that the wick is getting juice as I see small bubbles going up after I use it. Am I missing something ? Let me know, I would greatly appreciate it.

Random Notes - 3 Lights on Battery Indicator - 4.2volts, 2 Lights - 3.9volts, and 1 light - 3.8volts. juice is the Menthol supplied with my purchase from Cig-Easy.

Thank you,

I was under the impression the the Elite 808 batteries are regulated, so you get the same amount of electrical whateverness throughout the whole charge. That's one of my favorite features of the Elite 808, I never had issues with burned taste on a fresh battery. My only complaint about my GoGo is that burned taste on a fully charged battery.

The only complaint I have about the Clear and Easy tanks is that eventually they start leaking. But they last longer than any other clear cartos I've tried.

Sorry I'm not any help to you, just my observations :)

The only time I have had that problem with the C & E Tanks is when chain vaping. I start noticing a slightly off taste and it seems to correspond to the bottom of the tank (where it meets the battery) being warmer than normal. If i lay off and pull air through (suck - don't blow ) gently a few times without activating the battery it seems to go back to normal. Also seems to happen more with sweeter juices.

Not to leave anyone hanging but here is a little follow up that I had with Cig Easy. I've tried 4 of the 5 and they all ended the same way. I'm thinking about heading up to the local Vapers Gathering here in Phoenix see if anyone can show me what I am doing wrong with them. Anyways, went off on a tangent there. Here was the info I was provided through my emails with CigEasy.

This may occur as a result of most KR808D-1 unregulated batteries come off the charger on avg at about 4.2 volts and then begin to taper down to 3.7 volts.

Most horizontal (bottom fed) coiled cartomizers and or tanks vape optimally at around (3.7 -3.5 volts) particularly when the cartomizer or tank is of slightly lower resistance. (i.e. 2.6 ohms or lower)

The only time I personally have noticed a burnt taste with any variety of 808 tanks at 2.6 ohms or less is when I attach it to a freshly charged battery and/or when I am vaping on my 5 volt passthrough or mod.

The burnt taste usually goes away once I bump down the voltage. I have noticed it more when using 100% PG based e-liquids. Especially if I am chain vaping! Thinner viscosity e-juice heats up faster.

If your still getting a burnt taste with tanks in particular after the voltage drops then you might want to try blowing through the mouth piece end of the tank to clear (air intake tube) of air bubbles. Sometimes a little e-liquid may come out battery end. Wipe dry with a paper towel before re-attaching to battery.

There is a bit of a learning curve getting use to tanks although, there really is nothing other than e-liquid that is burning or tastes burnt as there is no filler to over heat.

It may take a little more experimentation for best results.

I personally vape mostly 100% PG based E-liquids and sometimes I do not always get a burnt taste off the charger. I know I have received a lot of feedback from customers saying that some PG/VG based e-liquids work best with their tanks and others that experience a burnt taste if they are using a higher VG ratio e-liquid with added sweeteners.
Usually dessert type e-juices that are darker seem to caramelize on attys and the coils on cartomizers over a short period of time.

I hope this helps someone. Thanks again to CigEasy for the quick response to my email.

I have noticed that as well, I would get good flavor after I did this but then it would burn again. Maybe I would just have to change my style with this.

i appreciate you posting this. id like to get into tanks, but with all the hassle i dont think it would be worth it for me. especially seeign how i dont really vape more than a mL or two a day. i just like the idea of a tank and seeing the liquid more than the functionality of not having to refill.

it is a lot of fiddle. V4l has 808 tanks for cheap. I've had problems with the included cartos but better success with a saddle punch from lowes and punching my own horizontals. It's the same concept, though. Holes in the bottom feed liquid to the coil. Too much pressure and they leak, not enough and you get dry burnt hits. A few places make tanks with carb holes in the side but I'm not sure I'm ready to spend that much when I have stuff I know will work and I can get a bunch of them for the same price. Any bottom feeding clearo seems to have similar issues.

At least the top coil clearos can be fixed by widening the slot or tipping them on their side when you get dry hits. Great for dripping too.

To me the idea of seeing the liquid was what excited me. I wanted the chance to refill before I even remotely had the change to burn dry. Well, I got a J-Tank in the mail today and I am getting my Infinity Pro in the mail tomorrow. There is a chance yet, that I can live the dream of seeing the juice levels.
