Depends on what you're defining as a "pass through" device. The mod you wish to use would be most helpful in advising on whether this tank is a viable choice or not.

Np. If it's a pass through from years ago, they weren't even a good idea back then. Not sure they had Any protection circuitry and we ran them in the 5watt range. Gotta link to the product?

If you are looking for a small unregulated PT, I used to use a Joyetech Upgrade like that. Pretty small in 650mah size and very trustworthy mod. Unregulated like a mech but with circuitry protection.
Have to imagine that it wouldn't run anything much under 1.8 ohms.

The absolute lowest you should attempt on that is around 1.5 - 1.6 ohms and even that may be pushing things. Sub ohm ranges? Absolutely not.
