With the news on the proposed FDA rules announced this morning I feel it is time for me to take action. I would like to send emails / correspondences to my local, state and federal reps. My concern is that I do not consider myself proficient in properly conveying my ideas in a straight forward professional manner.

I guess my question is if there is a resource available that contains solidly written letters regarding vaping, accurate facts, etc?

Or am I just complicating this - is it better to simply email a loosely written heart felt letter to our reps?

TIA

Kristin's entry, just above yours. "After analyzing the 240-page document, CASAA will issue a Call to Action for its members detailing any consumer concerns, instructions for submitting public comments and possible talking points."

Please just WAIT until we get word about what "we" should do. If we all go off willy-nilly, our efforts will most likely be ineffective. And we may not get our message to the "right" people.

Sent to my house rep and senator:

I am very concerned by the recent proposal the FDA has released regarding the regulation of electronic cigarettes.

The wording of the proposal seems like the intent is to effectively eliminate the many small businesses, and the innovation by small device manufacturers that this industry has had for the past several years. I fully believe that these technologies are life saving. I also believe that the free market that consumers enjoy has a lot to do with how effective they are at transitioning people away from inhaling smoke. I am also very concerned that the approval details that have been proposed would limit their effectiveness, as well as effectively hand the industry over to large tobacco companies that many people do not want to support in any way.

I would appreciate a reply letting me know what your stance is on the issue of electronic cigarettes and the FDA proposals.
I would also like to urge you to do everything in your power to keep this technology advancing.

I know that for me and many other present and former smokers, this issue will heavily influence our decisions at the polls.
Thank you.

I'm in the process of writing a heartfelt letter and emails to my Senators and Representatives about my concerns. This won't prevent me from sending whatever response we are supposed to give to the FDA deeming proposal whenever CASAA gives us the suggested way to approach it.
