Ordered on 12-30-2011, recieved the first one on Saturday the 14th. Not too terrible. I did not realize they shipped all items separately. Not sure if I got the best deal, but for 12 bucks I got 3 of them, which if you are looking at mvapes then I got a pretty good deal as they charge 6 bucks or so a pop. Have not hooked it up yet, but as I said it was a recommendation from someone that has some weight here.

You should keep us informed on how they work as I am looking to buy some as well.

Lol I understand trust me :D

What I can tell you is the caps used for the 4050 should be Electrolytic and if you are going to use a single battry should be about 12v so what you are looking for is 100uf Electrolytic 12v caps. I could be wrong but that is what I pulled of the data sheet from TI and those caps can be bought at radio shack for $1.19 ea.
So the RS caps fit the parameters set in the datasheet you 'pulled' from? :)

special attention must be paid to the type, value, and ESR of the capacitors selected.

The minimum ripple current rating for any nonceramic capacitance must be greater than 250 mA rms. The ripple current rating of electrolytic capacitors is a major consideration when they are used at the input.

So these RS caps you mentioned meet these requirements? You got a datasheet for those worthy caps?

Here's a cap I pulled off the datasheet from TI's "Table 3. Recommended Input/Output Capacitors".

EEU-FC1E181 Panasonic Electronic Components Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors - Leaded

Cheap and from a respected manufacturer.
