I purchased a "Flexi-Sleeve for ProVari (Extended Cap)" from Serenity Gear on April 15th, I received it a few days later and kept it on hand until I received my new Emerald Green ProVari, after a slight delay from ProVape on April 24. I have used the Flexi-Sleeve from day one, following all provided instructions. Here is what my ProVari looks like today:

You can pretty clearly see all of the chips on the end cap and the scratches all over the tube. Is this my fault for thinking a leather holster was the proper choice to protect my device, or should I contact either Serenity Gear or ProVape, or perhaps both of them? I'm kinda bummed out because I really like my device but the finish is pretty much ruined, guess it's time to get a J-Wrap =/

Edit: This seems to be an issue with my finish, not a problem with Serenity Gear's Flexi-Sleeve. Both Tim's product and customer support is top notch, and I will order from him again.

I use Serenity sleeves on my devices and nothing like this has happened. Constant rubbing will wear the finish off but I doubt you're taking the sleeve off and on 100 times a day. Open a ticket with Provape. The finish should not look like that in 5 weeks, IMO.

I'll do that. And no my device lives on my desk at night with the holster sitting next to it, I get up in the morning, put in a fresh battery, put the device in the holster and use it all day, I take the device out of the holster just before I go to bed.

Sorry Ovid, but it's tucked away in the ProVape forum somewhere. Since I didn't reply, it would be really difficult to find it. I'll try Search, but don't expect much.

Anyway, that was my first choice of color for my order on next month's (tomorrow's) budge research myselt

Gotcha, I'll do the searching myself then, thanks!

If you can't get any satisfaction from ProVape or Serenity Gear, you can always send it to OCD Mods to be re-finished. You can see them on Facebook by doing a search for OCD Mods. I haven't used them, but I've read positive reviews. Here is an excerpt from Facebook:

"OCD Mods is the creation of Darren Barwick. A Vaping enthusiast who just couldnt leave his Mods and Attys as they were. Wanted to have something unique and personal. So OCD Mods was born. Currently we provide ceramic coating in wide variety of colors. Polishing, media blasting and brushed finishes. So the options for personalizing your mod are extensive."

I may end up having to do that. Thanks for the info!

Nothing holds up better than brushed stainless steel. No coating can hope to be as tough.

I know, but this is damage from being taken in and out of a leather holster. Leather should not be capable to scratching whatever they use to finish it.

It's Cerakote. Until the green one came out, the black ones were the ones I've seen with a lot of wear. The gold one they just came out with is Zenkote but the rest except brushed stainless steel are all Cerakote. Seems like some colors wear more than others. My purple one is in great shape still and I use it daily. Had it for over a year.

That's not what I expected. I really don't think it has anything to do with the sleeve. If that was the case, everyone that uses SG sleeves would be having the same issue no matter what color. We aren't. This is the first time I've seen a sleeve cause the finish to rub off.

Provape got back to me, pretty much as expected. Contact SG.

Thanks for the info...I was going to buy a black one but now I'll wait for the P3 and keep it on the base model(no colors). This is way too fragile, imho...they should have this written in a disclaimer on the colored version and for all I know, they do somewhere.

Their site has this to say, no matter what color you get:

"The ProVari™ V2.5 Base Model Includes:

• 1 ProVari variable voltage electronic vaporizer in a Metallic Emerald Green color.
• 510 Atomizer Connection
The coating is a durable ceramic finish that won't fingerprint."

I would assume by them writing this in all color details that it would apply to all colors and I've never seen
a negative review regarding chips in the paint.
