Well, ford had a problem with their paint a while back:

Car Owners Upset About Bad Paint Jobs – NBC Chicago

“She found thousands of other car owners with a similar peeling problem by just performing an Internet search, and she even landed on a Facebook page dedicated to Ford-Mercury peeling paint problems, where she said hundreds of disturbed vehicle owners go for advice on the bubbling, peeling paint.”

Elyria police cruisers plagued by peeling paint; Ford says problem is out of warranty

“The paint on 18 Elyria police cruisers is peeling — very badly — in fact, the paint is coming off of the cars in sheets. The cruisers are 2006 and 2004 Ford Crown Victorias”

Fox 4 Kansas City Video Report

“No one at Ford wanted to help me” Four year old Ford Expedition, peeling and blistering paint…Ford denies responsibility and would not respond to Fox 4′s report but did call the owner of the vehicle to tell her “Tough Luck”. She will now take Ford to small claims court.

So maybe it's not provape's problem but the bad pr it could cause will be their problem.

I've been using my red/black in a SGL sleeve for a month.
It was about 3 months old when I bought it used (but in good condition) from the classies.
It stays in the sleeve except about 3-5x/day to change the battery or take a pic or whatever.
It's not the tightest fit so it slides around in there but it's not scratched-up in my opinion.

Compare his/her scratched green mod to mine. His/Hers has a ridiculous amount of wear for 5-6 weeks.
This finish is good. The green obviously isn't. Provape should do something about it. :2c:

OTOH I bought this from a construction worker.
It's also 3 months old but took a licking.
It's blue lit and works perfectly and at $95 was a killer deal.
This was from work and expected, his/hers greenie should be in the same condition as my red/black.

EDIT - Ovid, you're not a mason or a lifeguard are you?

I love the patina on that Mini. Like I said, it adds character.

I didn't mean to derail the thread but one more for contrast

babied V2 vs used hard V2.5

Dude...great contrast. I take care of all my electronics. You call it Babied - I call it prolonging the life due to my inability to spend money to replace. It's been easy going with my provari and that's why I'm so surprised to see this 5 week old provari looking so bad.

I agree. Babied is a good thing. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking calls to my Yankee upbringing.

There was a t-shirt in the 80's that summed up the way guys think:

"If it ain't stiff it ain't worth a ...." <-paraphrased motto from Stiff Records

I also like my electronics to last so I baby them.
It's nice to know that it can take abuse without breaking though :)

Agreed, definitely a well built machine. It's just that I see too many people expecting miracles when it comes to electronic devices these days coupled with impatience and these same people think the quality products are too expensive at 159.95 or so. It doesn't make sense. Didn't mean to go off topic, sorry.

If that was mine I would gently rub it down with a Scotch bright pad so that only the letters & teardrops had black paint.

I find it odd how many people are blaming Provari.

It's a painted finish with a ceramic clear coat, pretty similar to what you'll find on high end cars like Porsche and Mercedes. It's not easy to scratch, but it's no impervious to damage either. It's still paint, ANY abrasive surface can still scratch it.

Now, the holster is leather, and leather absolutely is abrasive. More important, leather is also porous which allows bits of dirt and grit to adhere to it, which turns the leather into something similar to sand paper. Especially if the inside of the holster is rough, unfinished leather. Like it or not, leather holsters commonly cause wear. This isn't limited to ecig holsters either.

That's what a leather holster does to a handgun.

That did not happen in a couple months.
Not to mention I dont think older Ed Browns used cerakote.
