I will make this as short as I can, because I tend to get detailed and long winded.

I stopped smoking on Jan 6th of this year after buying a Cig2O kit from a local pipe shop where I live. I had called around town trying to find someone who had ecigs in our area other than the mall because OMG they were expensive as hell. That said, I paid $79.99 for the kit at the pipe shop.

Anyhow, the Cig2O is basically a set of kr808d-1's and I fell in love with them. Kept going to the pipe store to get my prefilled carts at $15.99.

Then I started looking around online and found out there is this whole other world of vaping! V4L has been one of my favorite sites and I have bought several batteries from them and they are way better quality than the cig2o batteries and they came in colors!

But even though I love my V4L batteries, I'm kind of irritated that I didn't know more about the types of ecigs out there. So my questions are:

1) Which ecig can be compatible with all this krd808 gear that I have. (chargers, tanks, cartomizers etc.)

2)If there is an answer to question #1, is the battery life longer? The kr808d's are a good starter ecig, but I'm tired of constantly charging. I almost always have two charging all the time. I want one that lasts all day long. Even TWO one that lasts all morning then needs a charge and one that lasts all afternoon. You know what I mean?

3) If such a ecig exists to fulfill questions one and 2, my next wish is that my new ecig has some OOOOOMPFFFFFFFFFFF! I want one that provides a good full vape without getting to hot and burning my carts too quick.

The point is, where should I go from here? I want to go somewhere with some compatibility to the gear I already own but with a few more bells and whistles. Does it exist?

Sure it does.

Any 808 fits, accessories and batteries are listed as their compatibility.

That said, 510 connections are more popular. There are adapters for 808 to 510, so you can mix and match what you have with what you can get.

For a long lasting and reliable set, I recommend KGO from hoosiersupply.com or darkcityvapor. These are 1100 maH and run at up to 3.7 volts. They last most users a full day. This of course depends on vaping demands.

If you want something even more well built, there are many good 3.7v MODs available, and they range in price. Roughstack, Bolt, Silverbullet and BB to name a few.

If you don't mind size as above, and want even more oomph, I suggest VV by Buzz Pro or ProVari for tubes or VV box MODs. These VV MODs can be cheaper like the Lavatube and its alternate brands, to over $200 for a ProVari set.

Most MODs listed are 510 threaded, some can be what you choose, like Buzz Pro, and you can always use adapters to change to another thread style.

Good luck!

Welcome to ECF & congratulations on making the switch! In answer to your question(s), there are larger battery PVs that use the KR808 threading, though personally I don't know what they are, and I don't think that's the most advisable way to go. I'd suggest going to a 510-threaded bigger battery model and using an inexpensive adapter ($2 - 4) for your KR808 cartos if you'd like to use them on it.

The only way to get a longer lasting charge is with a more powerful (= larger) battery. Battery power is measured in milliamp-hours (mAh) and the "average" usually tossed out here is 100mAh = roughly 1 hr. between charges for the "average vaper". There are other factors involved here as well and I expect lots of folks will chime in with suggestions, but from a perspective of frugality (short - and long - term, but short will get her first) and function I would suggest either the E-Power 14650 Kit or the KGO Kit, either with Low Resistance, Single Coil cartomizers. I would avoid (at this point) any kit that comes with dual coil cartos or atomizer/cartridge combinations.

I would also suggest that you consider my suggestion along with the many others you'll probably get and see which one(s) seem to be the best fit for you, because the bottom line is this: what's best for you is the one you'll actually USE. The kits I mentioned will require e-liquid, as will most of the upgrades available to you. If you're already filling your own cartos you probably already know which flavors, PG/VG ratios & nic levels you prefer. If not there are lots of vendors folks will suggest who mostly offer e-liquids, and you can get small, sample sized bottles of flavors you'd like to try.

A couple of vendors who carry the kits I mentioned, the E-Power 14650: E-Power Sweet-Vapes also carries the KGO, but I think this is a better deal for them here: E-Power

Best of luck, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

If you like the 808 model, I would suggest taking a look at Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | Wholesale Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarette | Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarette

Their 808 has been the best performing slim ecig I've ever tried and their prices are reasonable. They also are offering 808 threaded "fat batts" which will give you a much longer use time. They are also passthroughs that you can charge while using them, unplug and go.

I second the suggestion of the kGo. 510/808 adapters are cheap and there's no substitute for a larger battery.
There are physical limitations to a small battery that cannot be overcome, no matter what you do or what anyone says.
Physics is physics. A battery of 650-1300mah will ALWAYS outperform a little cigarette looking battery, and for a longer time as well.
The kGo is tried and true. Some people never bother to upgrade from it.

You're going to be overwhelmed with suggestions.. and all of them will be good for one reason or another. I'm just going to say that I too 'discovered' all of this on Jan 20 of this year, but being retired and glued to my PC all day I've learned a HUGE amount! This place and the users is/are great.

I started with a '510' type Blu kit and another small '808' cigarette type. Quickly got 2 each of larger 510 and 808 'stick' (cig diameter-ish) batts. The 808's lasted better than the 510's and I could get through a day charging each one once during the day and again overnight. I'm a reasonably heavy vaper. I went to clearomizers (better taste, larger fill) but my 510 'bottom-feeders' all leaked into the batts, some more than others. The 808's worked great. Most of either type 'Top-feeders' don't leak, but they taste harsher (more harsh?) to me.

My current solution is an eGo VV passthrough. It's 900 mAh and would probably go all day if not plugged in and charging, but I keep it mostly plugged in while vaping. It has 3 voltages and really isn't a 'true' VV but I can adjust most of my juice/carto combinations to something I like. And I have a 510 to 808 adapter so I use my favorite 808 stuff on it as well.

Until I get a true VV like a lavatube, I think the newer eGo VV passthroughs and an 808 adapter (if needed) are the hot ticket newb-to-intermediate step until you get a 'form factor' preference. And you can get one for around $20-30 at a bunch of places. A trim cone for regular 510 or 808 cartos is about $5-8 more, and you can even find C-style kits pretty cheap if you want to try out a tank/atomizer setup.

Edit- I just looked at the 'fat batt' that ctourtelot posted the link for.. being an 808 carto type of guy, that looks like a pretty nice solution at a reasonable price. I still like the 3 voltages on the VV eGo's though, and I'd suggest going with a manual instead of auto in case you try clearomizers.

This won't help the OP with constantly changing batteries due to the small mini batteries on this model.

As others have stated, get a better battery model like the Kgo or E-Power. I would not get an ego because it is only a 3.4 volt battery. You might even want to look at a good 5 volt or variable watt model that will give you warmer vaper and more consistency to go along with the longer battery life. With any of these models you will get around 6 hours on a charge or more. There are some models, like the Darwin that will provide you 21 - 35 hours on a charge even for a heavy vaper.

And as already mentioned, since most of these models come with a 510 connection, you can get a 510 to 808 adapter for $3 from Madvapes.com. Here are some sites to look at:

Crystal Clear Vaping

KGO kit 1100mAh by SLB

GLV-2 Electronic Cigarette [GLV-2] - $120.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

I would definitely ditch the mini batteries.

Good Luck

As stated in my post, SI has fat batts that are equivalent to the Egos/Kgos without making the OP buy all new components or adapters to go from 808 to 510 threading. Also, the battery life on even the small batteries out performed the other 808's that I have, but the fat batts in addition to the OPs current supply would address the battery life issue.

I'm not a pro at this, but I've heard enough about the E-power to make that my next purchase. I have the eGo-T 1000mah now, and while it's better than the 510 clone I started with, the E-power and other PV's with replaceable batteries just have too many advantages to pass up. Most will take 2800mah generic batteries that are maybe a fifth the cost of an eGo-T battery, and you get the 3.7 volts vs. 3.4v. Switches are replaceable too, and you can charge 2 or more batteries at a time, and without tying up your whole power unit.

I'm going to go with eGo-C 3-piece atomizers (with the Joyetech tanks, obviously) for now as my main attachments, but will also stock up on some good carts, and a couple of clearomizers. I'd like to try out the CE4, and the Mom and Pop Submarine Tank.

I'll add my pretty pennies in here...
I too LOVE the kGo. A device that looked like a regular cig didn't work for me the first time so I knew I didn't want to go that route again. The kGo was a perfect size, imo, and was highly recommended... AND they had it in pink. :D
After a (pink) Roughstack and Lavatube, I came across the Go-go's and they are every bit as enjoyable as my kGo - moreso than my mods. That one isn't backwards compatible but it has an attachment (don't they all?) for 510 threading so I can use my Resurrectors on it, if I want... although I'm happy as hell w/ the cartos and Visions that go w/ the Go-go.

Sounds to me like you are ready for a mod! :D You may as well skip all the in between steps and go ahead and get what you know will make you happy.

I highly recommend the buzz pro or infinity pro from notcigs. They are American built, high quality mods that work extremely well. Customer service can't be beat, either. You choose the type of connector you want, so you can use your 808 gear. Variable voltage will give you exactly the amount of oomph you want. You dial in exactly what you want for each juice, carto, or atty. (And it can vary between different ones.) One set of batteries lasts me a full day, and I vape non stop. (I suggest getting at least 2 sets. I got 3, cause they will eventually wear out and I don't want to be without spares.)

The buzz pro and infinity pro both have the same capabilities and safety features, so it is basically a choice of looks between the two. The buzz is a bit shorter and fatter than the infinity. I preferred the sleeker look of the infinity.

If you want to know more, hop over to the notcigs forum and jump right in. Notcigs There are always friendly, knowledgeable people around who are happy to answer questions.

So basically experiment, you can buy plenty of gear out there for a fairly inexpensive price just have fun with it. I myself was partial to the small cig style vapes but learned that they really can't offer much in batterylife so yea I say give it a go and try something larger. Either way you slice it you are ready to try something different. Check out madvapes.com they always got sales going on and killer custermer service. Just got myself a roughstack v2 its def what I needed! Mostly cuz I'm clumzy and theese things are built like tanks! so take in the advice and keep up the good work I'm sooo done with those filthy anologs and my breath is fresher than its ever been lol. Happy Vaping!

Another Kgo fan here! :)

My husband loves his KR808 and has got himself a PCC from Smokeless Image. That way, he can have a charged battery wherever he goes.

One issue with the KR808 is the lesser availability of hardware in comparison to 510 threading which as others have explained is the standard. One example is the 808 cart/510 battery adapter which if you are moving from 808's to 510's (like I am at present) is very useful. Of the dozens of shops out there, so far I have found one that sells this but requires a minimum order to ship. Blank 808 carts also seem to be dropping in availability and those that currently have them are those that have the higher prices.

As our household shows, some stick with the 808 and some don't. It's a matter of choice. Economically though, 510 makes much more sense due to higher price competition/availability.

I haven't even got to the vaping experience yet. That is the most personal choice of all and only you can make that choice.
