The actual hole count has an equivalent micron value – 200 mesh = will allow 74 microns to pass through it. 100 mesh = 149 microns. So by reducing the hole count, you are increasing the hole.

Yeah, the mesh number measurement is annoying because it’s meant to deal with something totally different than what we do. The size of the hole doesn’t really matter. What matters is electrical resistance, mass, and surface area. What we get is what we get though.

It depends. With wire mesh generally no though. More smaller holes means more thinner wires. It’s highly dependent on how the product is produced. A wire mesh needs to be bent and woven, and the wire is generally round. This places limits on the size of wire that can be used of a given type.

Basically it means finer mesh is more thinner wires, and while you can’t measure the wire the mere fact that they use round wire of a particular type and weave it means there can’t be a lot of variation between one manufacturers #200 mesh 316L and another’s. 400 SS could be a different kettle of fish though. Different metal different properties.

See, the thing is, if mesh is a plate, and a matrix of wires, then what happens to entropy? Has mesh brought about a truly Dickian reality? Is it all different in Fomalhaut system?

Man, vaping is complicated...

Ok, I'll be serious for a moment. I have more and more questions about mesh and the only way I can intelligently discuss them is to have a device that uses one. Nothing to read into that, just that I need hands on experience now.

Jeez, that sounds an awful lot like I'm shutting it down - but I'm not. Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking when I write stuff, but it's no surprise really as I rarely tell myself what I'm up to. Someday I'm gonna corner myself ask just what the blazes is going on. But I doubt I'll get a coherent answer. I'll likely just get a bunch of rambling, misleading nonsense.

Tell you what, if I ever run into myself in a dark alley, I'm gonna give myself a good thumping. I got it coming.

If you want to try a hassle free mesh coil the Aspire Nautilus coil now comes in mesh at a resistance of like, 0.7. It's better than the Innoken coils if you ask me. They are pleasant at first but they lose flavor FAST. I wanted to see if it was my coil or the juice and it was most definitely the coil (I changed it to my vastly preferred 1.6 coil without adding a drop of juice and it was most definitely the COIL. Maybe a bad one, but it turned me off them honestly.

The nautilus coil does not have that problem it lasts and the vape quality is quite lovely. I vape mine in a N2S but really any old nautilus (if you have one) will do.

I am NEVER building with mesh. I know my limitations.
