"The Environmental Impact of Cigarette Butts and E-Cig "Aerosol"

The inspiration:
Tons of customers asking if e-cigs/vaporizers damage the Ozone/ cause waste
The reason: The media of course

"If I vape, I was told that I would be hurting the ozone layer because of the aerosol emissions"
Aerosol?

The cigarette .... problem is *much worse than what most people think*. There is also some interesting info concerning other lies masked by Big tobacco concerning their filters/agendas. What started as our thread on Reddit turned into a full-blown article (so much discussion).

Keep in mind that some readers (i.e. people from Stumble Upon, have no idea about e-cigs, so some parts might seem like newbie knowledge (we had to make it understandable for the average person as well as the community):vapor:

The college campus thing really hit home with me.

I went to a fairly small university of a couple thousand, and one week the semester of the smoking ban a group of "campus activists" walked around the campus proper with five gallon buckets picking up every .... they could find. All the ones properly disposed of in ashtrays would be put in a large clear plastic tube and all the ones found anywhere else were put in a second tube.

The tubes were displayed next to the student union for the rest of the semester. The tube containing one week's worth of butts found in ashtrays was 1 foot across and 2 feet tall. The tube containing "litter" butts was the 1 foot across and 6 feet tall! A lot of the litter butts came from over flowing ashtrays and parking lots, but still... that's a total of a tube eight feet tall in a week!

Yes it's insane how bad it is; nobody really discusses it. What frightens me is the top-soil- we all know there are "pesticides" and poisons etc; that is also being put into the ground. Imagine areas where everyone drinks well water in places where there are a lot of smokers. What makes no sense is that the target seems to be e-cigarette aerosol pollution when tobacco smoke is ALSO an aerosol which is *toxic and, yet vapor, for some reason, is the sensational new aerosol to fear. Even smokers think that, and they are smoking "aerosol", it is very ironic.
