AFAIK, you can't switch between the battery types. They have different diameters. It may be possible to get a 14650 inside a 18650 housing (it's smaller) but I don't really see the point. You'd get lower endurance for the same overall bulk. (that of the tube itself)
You can't get higher than 3,7 v on it because it only uses one Li-Ion cell. They're 3.7 v batteries. For higher voltage, you'd need two cells or a DC/DC converter.

And lastly, I would avoid the e-Power. Mine never worked correctly, even after changing the switch twice.

Well, I wasn't trying it on a fancy Atty. Just regular CE2s (2.4 Ohm) and a Vision Stone. None of the switches I got worked correctly.
The LED lights, but after a few puffs, they just don't deliver any current (checked with a multimeter). If I let them sit disconnected for some time, they will sometimes work for a bit, then shut down anew. Clicking very fast on them will sometimes make them restart. After tinkering with that for one week, I just got fed up and moved on. Mine were 14650.

Now, I'm not saying that every one of them is broken, just that quality control for the e-power seems way off. Plus the vendor that sold them just refused to take them back on the grounds that "they work fine for everyone else and you can sort of make them work". Sure, just don't count on further business with me.

If you order one, maybe you'll get a switch that works well. But maybe not.

I would take it that you have a 14650 e-power. There have been like three switch revisions for them. If you have a blue switch (origional switch or third revission) it should work as intended. If it has a white switch .. well .. I feel for ya.
The problem is that even tho there is now a switch that does work, there are a ton of vendors out there with e-powers in stock that don't work.

i got mine from crystalclearvaping, i had to wait a while for shipping since i ordered while they was moving into there new shop, so he threw in a extra switch assembly and smoktek tank.

So I have the white led switch and the new blue led version, i like the 5 click on/off feature of the white switch so have been using it for almost a month now. The epower 14650 has been working great for me.... the first charge on the batteries didnt seem to last long, after the second charge they work fine and lasts me a full day easy from a full charge on low resistance ressurector cartos and i am a pretty heavy vapor.

I used a pipe cutter and cut down the cone to make a shorty cone to use with tanks, looks and works great with or without a tank.

I keep mine in my pocket 24/7 while at work and at home, i really put my epower through its paces and its held up great and vapes great with the ressurectors.

Maybee im lucky to have had no problems but the epower has been a solid bang for your buck performer for me and will hold me over well untill i upgrade to a provari.

Nope, both switches are blue. Yet they don't work :) I'm just a bit peeved about batteries, most of those I tried just died of bad electronics, bad mechanical assembly or bad electronics. (E-Go Passthrough, E-Go variable voltage, E-Power, Bolt)

I'm rewiring my Bolt right now. (Waiting for the glue pistol to heat up) I'm thinking that I may stick with the thing I whipped up this morning out of desperation :p At least, I know how it's made and how to rebuild it if it fails :)

Hey, Skjuld, I wasn't looking to create a debate or argument. I understand what it's like when you get a defective product. And you certainly have reason to be upset.

I was just commenting that my 18650 serves my needs very well. I wasn't looking for VV as I think maybe the OP was. Nor was I looking to share batteries with another model. I do have one that works without problems, but I've read elsewhere that others have had difficulties with them. Then again, I find that with just about every product out there.

Yep, the QC for e-power seems pretty poor according to a lot of reports (GotVapes isn't going to carry them anymore because of it).

I have both sizes and mine work fine so far. I was pretty peeved with the design of the 14650 switch with oversized threads - I have to use a 510-to-ego adapter to use ego compatible cartos (like stardusts or ego clearomizers) and can't use ego parts (like sleeves/cones) but the 3rd gen switch I got works as expected.

No probs with my 18650 other than the fragility of the aluminum to aluminum threads between the switch and tube (but its a lot bulkier/heavier than I expected, and a bit too awkward for carrying around).

I see you've decided against an e-power, good luck with your next selection.
