We need more info :). What are you looking for in an rta?

Erlkonigin: excellent flavor, tightish airflow, top fills, no access to deck without emptying, holds 6ml, trickier wicking, 21mm

Taifun: more airflow adjustment, access build deck anytime, bottom fills but easily, easy build, 23mm, less flavorful than Erlk IMO

The Errl was my favourite atty ever, to be reserved for special occasions or with a very special juice because the flavour is so on point. I disagree that the airflow is tightish. With the AFC ring taken off it's a lung hitter. Never floods, gurgles or dry hits (once you figure out how to wick it). It's so easy to coil. The learning curve of how to wick it is quite steep, but once you figure it out its easy enough. Also you soon learn that the cotton needs rewicking every tank full, and you can't get away with just refilling, as dark backwash liquid occurs and the flavour suffers. The Erl is avery special atty. Thick, full moist vape. It's also worth knowing that the Erl seems more efficient in that I had to drop my nic level just for that particular RTA otherwise I got nic sick. Liquid consumption is not too bad

Then I got my TGT II, and it blew me away how good it is. Flavour is just slightly less than the Erl, but the ability to access the build deck at any time makes up for it. The adjustable airflow is lovely and when wide open is plenty. I placed the TGT II joint equal with my Erl as my 2 fave atties. Wicking this atty is easy peasy. It does go through juice a bit tbh. Also needs rewicking every one or two tanks, depending on your type of juice.

Then I got my Rose V2 from Eden Mods. This is an incredible atty. Easy to wick, access the build deck at any time, tighter airflow but massive flavour, and gouts of thick vapour. When I got this it became top equal with the Erl and TGT II. Low juice consumption, and doesn't need rewicking as often as the others.

As for your question of which one to go for, I'd say get both the Erl and the TGT II. I doubt you will regret it

+1 for the Tai-Fun :) A Kay-fun V4 is a great choice also, you can find a tobeco clone for 20 bucks well worth the money IMO
Both Tai-Fun & Kay-fun are a little restrictive Air flow But the flavour is way better than these Wide open Air Flow Tanks IMO
I never liked the Earl, the wicking has to be just right :( I like a tank that is a little more forgiving :)

The erl was a pita for me. The wick had to be perfect every time. As in perfection, lots of tedious work. If you mess up, you have to drain the whole tank to try again. It vapes great the first several vapes after a build because you put juice on the cotton. Then the problems arise when you're out and about. I wanted to like it but it just wouldn't happen for me. I need a tank that's more forgiving.

Thanks everyone! Some really great comments that helped me make a decision. Just ordered the clones of the Taifun GT 2 and I also ordered a Monster v2. I really want the Erl K b/c I think it would be perfect for my needs but I have been dealing with wicking issues with my Lemo2 lately and I am getting tired of having to empty tank to work on. Definitely will try out the Erl at some point in the near future.

I'm with you on this one... Taifun GT II first overall, Erlkonigin second. Its pretty much what I use everyday!

I've noticed a lot of problems from wicking on the lemo are caused by over tightening the glass, and that causes the gasket to stretch into the juice channel. Try making it a little more than hand tight and see if that works any better. Also, check the oring on the top of the chimney, mine was a little cracked and that seemed to fix my issues.

Ok I will. I know my glass is really tight because I end up really tightening the whole thing down on my SXMM so my resistance does jump around in TC. I getting air bubbles from one channel but it's like it the bubble has a hard time getting out it comes out of the channel very slow I guess you would say.

I'm a complete newbie to building RTA's, though I've been rebuilding stock coils for quite awhile now. Last week I finally sat down with a couple of different Erlkonigin clones I've had for quite awhile but felt too intimidated to work on. For me, the wicking was the easy part. I just followed a post that had a picture and great explanation of how to do it in that long Erlkonigin thread:

The Erlkönigin : PICTORIAL | Page 72 | E-Cigarette Forum

Using that wicking method, I haven't had any wicking problems at all. I've been using rayon, not cotton, and have yet to need to rewick. I've vaped 6 tanks in one and 4 in the other and they still both taste like they did on the first vape.

Where I had the big problem was trying to get the coil legs to stay under those @%$#@%@$ tiny screws! I think that part took me about 20 minutes. At any rate, though, I wouldn't say this is necessarily a difficult tank for a newbie if you follow the wicking guide I linked to above. That helped me out enormously.

I think the 1:1 clone I have has perfect airflow for me with that bottom AFC ring removed. The second clone I have isn't 1:1 in that it instead has a side airflow slider similar to the subtank mini with 4 holes. It doesn't give quite as much airflow.

All in all, I love this RTA. I've been on a quest to find an RTA that gives flavor as good as my GS Air tanks, and I think I've found it. I've been picking these up all week instead of the Airs.

However, I've heard such great things about the Rose, that I picked one of those up, too. Once I can bring myself to put down the Erls, I'll try it next. Who knows - maybe I'll like it even better.

Great! I've heard that clones of the Rose V2 aren't as good as the authentic, by a long way. Certainly I found that in my own experience. I originally had a Pallas 1:1 clone of the Rose V2, and at first it just didn't perform well at all, until I stripped it down completely, removing every screw and insulator and cleaning all the parts. When I reassembled it, it performed just fine and was very nice indeed.

However, later on down the line, I corrected my disservice to Eden mods by replacing it with an authentic, and it is orders of magnitude better than the clone. A friend had previously told me that none of the Rose V2 clones are as good as the original, and when I told him my experience with the authentic versus the clone he said "Told you!" - LOL

Anyway, enjoy your Rose!!

Oregon Linda,
Where did you get your ERL K 1:1 from? If from a big vendor do you know Sku #? BTW the best 1:1 Erl k I have come across is made by wotofo. I have talked to someone who has authentic as well & he gives this one high marks. It is a bit more pricey than the FT ones. Coming in at about $39.99 shipped.
