Oregon Linda,
Where did you get your ERL K 1:1 from? If from a big vendor do you know Sku #? BTW the best 1:1 Erl k I have come across is made by wotofo. I have talked to someone who has authentic as well & he gives this one high marks. It is a bit more pricey than the FT ones. Coming in at about $39.99 shipped.
I have an authentic Rose and two clones. The clone differences are really very minor.
As for Erlk clones the Wotofo is nice. There's a very inexpensive one on Focalecig right now, but not sure of the quality. fasttech, of course, has a ton of them with reviews.
Unior, I actually got two from Angel Cigs on clearance for just $5.I didn't want to spend a lot of money for something I might not have liked, so these were perfect. But I haven't found a thing wrong with them. They probably aren't as good as the authentic, but great for trying out. They still have them listed in their clearance section, if you want to pick a couple up.
That's good to know. I got my Rose clone from E Cloud Vapes, so I'm hoping it is a decent one. I'm not sure who made it. I wish the vendors would include that information. And I saw that Focal has some Erlkonigin clones on sale right now for $6.90, so I might pick up some more of those, too. I could be happy vaping Erls for a long time.
I also have the EK V2 from FastTech which has a standard AFC ring and glass tank.
The discussion on FT mentions this. You can bore out the deck hole to 7/64" and the AFC holes to 1/16". I already bored out one of the AFC holes to 1/16" to no effect so I'm guessing the major restriction is the deck hole. The 1:1 from GB definitely has a much airier draw even without removing the AFC.That's one of the ones I have, Crunchie. I love the glass tank and the metal drip tip, but the airflow seems less to me. I've been pondering whether it would be a good idea to drill out one of those holes or not.![]()
I tried that with one of my EK V2s and found the body to be very hard. burned up 2 1/16 bits drilling out the 4 holes and 7/64" is about as large as you want to go on the central tube. leave the attachment screw in the bottom of the tube to act as a stop and drill the 4 holes on the side of the tube out to 1/16" this increased air flow by about 50%. still not as airy as a subtank or orchidThe discussion on FT mentions this. Taifun's not fool proof. I managed to screw it up and leak all over the place. Wasn't paying attention to the part about pulling the chamber up till it clicks in place, took a few tries to get the wicking right. The ErlK I got dead right first time, not because it's more foolproof, just because I got better at following directions. I've been rebuilding minipro's, evod's, GS Airs, and eGo Ones for some time, but I'm relatively new to RTA's.I vote Taifun GT2 ...... its my all day along with a few SquapesHad an ErlKo a while back an it just seemed too picky, things had to be just right. The Taifun is fool proof along with the Squape R and they are the devices I like to own.
it may take a few tries to learn how to wick this properly but with just a little practice wicking the EK is fast and easy. the trick is to cut the ends of the wick at the proper angle so that they taper down the juice channel I have 3 EK V2s that I dry burn and re-wick every 2 weeks and it takes less than 5 minutes to dry burn, clean the coil and replace the wick.once you learn how to do it right you will be rewarded with a great vaping experience. just cut the wicks at an angle instead of square like with other decksThe Taifun and SquapeR are dreams for new builders or people who want to build quickly and be done with it.
But, don't be discouraged by the Erlk wicking. OregonLinda and I both nailed it on our maiden voyage. And I've never had issues with it at all. Fairly quickly I could wick it as fast as any other atty. The flavor alone is worth trying it out. And you have to admire the ergonomics. 6ml and yet its small and light (and sips juice; most juice conservative atty I have).
