Oregon Linda,
Where did you get your ERL K 1:1 from? If from a big vendor do you know Sku #? BTW the best 1:1 Erl k I have come across is made by wotofo. I have talked to someone who has authentic as well & he gives this one high marks. It is a bit more pricey than the FT ones. Coming in at about $39.99 shipped.

Unior, I actually got two from Angel Cigs on clearance for just $5. :D I didn't want to spend a lot of money for something I might not have liked, so these were perfect. But I haven't found a thing wrong with them. They probably aren't as good as the authentic, but great for trying out. They still have them listed in their clearance section, if you want to pick a couple up.

I have an authentic Rose and two clones. The clone differences are really very minor.

As for Erlk clones the Wotofo is nice. There's a very inexpensive one on Focalecig right now, but not sure of the quality. fasttech, of course, has a ton of them with reviews.

That's good to know. I got my Rose clone from E Cloud Vapes, so I'm hoping it is a decent one. I'm not sure who made it. I wish the vendors would include that information. And I saw that Focal has some Erlkonigin clones on sale right now for $6.90, so I might pick up some more of those, too. I could be happy vaping Erls for a long time.

Immediately after ordering 2 more Erlkonigin clones from GearBest, I found the ones on Focal. Oh, well...
I already have one from GearBest and love it so I guess it's all good. I also have the EK V2 from FastTech which has a standard AFC ring and glass tank. All the 1:1 clones there require BitCoin, which is why I went to GearBest where I can pay with PayPal. The ones from GearBest have a problem with the positive 510 screw, needs the addition of a little O-ring to work. No biggy, I already have the O-rings for when they come in.

I have 3 Taifun clones from FT, one 1:1, and 2 frankenclones: a base with an acrylic bell cap.

As far as vapor production and flavor, I'd have to say they are equal. I use the same coil, 6 wraps @2.5mm of 28ga Kanthal with organic cotton on all of them. Vape 90+% VG, no leaks, no dry hits. The Taifuns are much bigger and heavier, even with the bellcaps, but easier to fill. The EK's are smaller, lighter, and hold more juice, but fiddly to fill with a syringe and you have to shut off the AFC before opening the fill holes.

I give a slight nod in favor of the Erlkonigin strictly for size and weight.

I think that's where I got my Rose clones from, too, but it was a year ago. No idea either who made them.

The Rose and Erlk are both some of my favorites.

That's one of the ones I have, Crunchie. I love the glass tank and the metal drip tip, but the airflow seems less to me. I've been pondering whether it would be a good idea to drill out one of those holes or not. :D

I have 3 of the EK V2s from fasteck and I love them. tested them with 80/20 PG/VG and with 95/5 VG/PG and they worked fine. I do run a portion all the way down the juice channel and taper it toward the top of the channel and have no problems with flooding, leaking or dry hits and the flavor is great.the airflow is a little tight for sub-ohm coils but I use coils between 1.3 and 1.7 ohms and get great flavor and good vapor production. these are my favorite tanks. more flavor than my kayfun or orchid tanks

The discussion on FT mentions this. You can bore out the deck hole to 7/64" and the AFC holes to 1/16". I already bored out one of the AFC holes to 1/16" to no effect so I'm guessing the major restriction is the deck hole. The 1:1 from GB definitely has a much airier draw even without removing the AFC.

Have an authentic EK and a WoToFo Clone. Love them both a TON.
The WoToFo is a great 1:1 with zero complaints or Cons except of course the Machining is not "Austrian Standard". Then again, not much truly is.

Overall, give the EK Authentic 2 Thumbs Up as that's all I got to give it.
Give the WoToFo Clone both "cloned" Thumbs Up.
Zero valid and true Issues or Complaints.

Sure the EK Design has it's few minor "Wish It Had/Did" shortcomings preventing the Achievement of Perfection.
But Perfection doesn't truly exist anyways so I don't sweat or whine about them or that.

*P.s. The Authentic has been fitted with the 2mm Wide-Bore Pos Pin which is nice. Can tell the difference but not a Deal-killer on the Clone without it.

I tried that with one of my EK V2s and found the body to be very hard. burned up 2 1/16 bits drilling out the 4 holes and 7/64" is about as large as you want to go on the central tube. leave the attachment screw in the bottom of the tube to act as a stop and drill the 4 holes on the side of the tube out to 1/16" this increased air flow by about 50%. still not as airy as a subtank or orchid

The Taifun and SquapeR are dreams for new builders or people who want to build quickly and be done with it.

But, don't be discouraged by the Erlk wicking. OregonLinda and I both nailed it on our maiden voyage. And I've never had issues with it at all. Fairly quickly I could wick it as fast as any other atty. The flavor alone is worth trying it out. And you have to admire the ergonomics. 6ml and yet its small and light (and sips juice; most juice conservative atty I have).

I vote Taifun GT2 ...... its my all day along with a few Squapes :) Had an ErlKo a while back an it just seemed too picky, things had to be just right. The Taifun is fool proof along with the Squape R and they are the devices I like to own.
Taifun's not fool proof. I managed to screw it up and leak all over the place. Wasn't paying attention to the part about pulling the chamber up till it clicks in place, took a few tries to get the wicking right. The ErlK I got dead right first time, not because it's more foolproof, just because I got better at following directions. I've been rebuilding minipro's, evod's, GS Airs, and eGo Ones for some time, but I'm relatively new to RTA's.

it may take a few tries to learn how to wick this properly but with just a little practice wicking the EK is fast and easy. the trick is to cut the ends of the wick at the proper angle so that they taper down the juice channel I have 3 EK V2s that I dry burn and re-wick every 2 weeks and it takes less than 5 minutes to dry burn, clean the coil and replace the wick.once you learn how to do it right you will be rewarded with a great vaping experience. just cut the wicks at an angle instead of square like with other decks

I love that part. I was assuming that an RTA would go through more juice than my GS Airs, but just the opposite has happened. So I've been pleasantly surprised.

I now have 3 EK's going and still haven't had a wicking problem. I just keep using that picture I referred to earlier, and it works perfect. My only problem is still those tiny screws in the deck! But I have some bigger ones coming from FT. :D

@crunchie812 how did you get the base apart to do your drilling? My other clones, I just unscrewed the screw in the 510 connector, then unscrewed that plastic insert. This one doesn't seem to be put together the same way.
