I noticed that Intellicig adds ethyl maltol as one of the few ingredients of their base in the ecopure stuff. After reading up a bit on it, it sounds like it would perfect to add a clean fresh smell that masks the bitterness of nicotine.

The problem is I could only find it in 25g amounts and the cheapest was 150 US. Anyone know of a place I could get smaller amounts to test to see how well it works?

It looks like they sell it diluted to 1% and I assume you use only a fraction of that in any product, if that makes a difference...

Whoops. Didn't see your post while I was typing Nuck..

I just put it an order. I'll post with the results when it gets here. I'm really looking for a clean, fresh base and haven't been able to find one yet. Hopefully Intellicig did all the work for me :)

You got me Lu--says harmful if swallowed?? Maybe in small dose it is ok? I do not know--but I think I do not want to know either--Sun
So is nicotine, caffeine, salt, iodine, and chocolate, and any number of other things. Many of them are actually poisonous. In small doses though they are either harmless, or in the case of salt and iodine, essential.

Any follow up to this, Nuck?

What are the benefits of adding this into the mix? How much?

It makes a very nice earthy base. I've seen it described as sweet hay but to me its more like a smell after it rains. It's hard to describe but I find it very pleasant. Alone it vapes to almost no taste at all. I believe its primary purpose is to mask the bitterness of the nicotine. In a tobacco flavour, it does a really nice job of taking the edge off.

I use a 1% solution by treating the fine crystals as liquid.

Thanks... I was just trying to figure if it would benefit me any. I don't see a reason for adding it to my stuff. I'm not much of a fan of tobacco flavorings.
