I'm curious if anyone has ever tried cleaning their Cartos/clearos with peroxide. My mind tells me this would work as it would bubble all the gunk off the coils.

Has anyone tried this?... Did it work?

It does work.

But I wouldn't recommend it unless you gave your Atty a Very Complete Flush/Rinse.

Interesting.. I should have thought of that myself.. I use peroxide to rinse my mouth with.. and a quick scrub now and then. Just have to ensure a good rinse is followed.

I just took 2 cartos I had cleaned earlier and dropped them into a jar of peroxide. Gave 'em a good shake and a bunch of crap started floating out of them.. It was black crud, flaking off from I suppose the coil.

If anything major pops up, I'll let you know.

HOLD EVERYTHING.

You have to be Very Careful when Cleaning Cartomizers.

An Atty or Clearomizer doesn't have any Filling Material that can Trap Peroxide or Vinegar or Whatever.

If you are going to using Anything but Water to Clean a Cartomizer, Be Sure to give the Cartomizer 2 or 3 Very Complete Rinses.

Also, Keep an Eye on the Filler Material. I've Seen some Filler Materials Break Down when soaked in Chemicals.

ok so not on the cartomizers. But when I get some more peroxide (kid never puts the flipping cap back on it for some reason) I'll try it on my clearos. I have a couple I have used with some cofee and tobacco net's that should be pretty grungy by now.

And don't feel old. My birthday is tomarrow and if anyone gets to play the old card right now it is me. Besides anything more than 6 months old is "back in the day" to me.

...

You know what Helps Clearos from not getting Gunked-Up?

Rinsing a Clearo out with Hot Water at Every Refill. No need to Dry out the Clearo Completely. Just Blow/Shake out as much water as possible. Then Fill and Vape.

The First hit or Two will be sort of Weak, but after they work Fine.

The Rinsing Greatly Extends the Time between Full Blow Cleanings/Dry Burns.

I use well vodka to clean my protank heads

I've been big on a grain alcohol rince myself. So far its been good to me. The carts that came with my very first 510 are still usable and is everything else. The wicks on my first vivi are starting to look a bit worn but it still works like a dream. Admittedly we are talking weeks of use not months or years but I still am pleased. Course I tend to be a bit on the cheap side.

I've got three atomizers I want to try cleaning with peroxide. I'm thinking, soak until the bubbling or fizzing stops, rinse, blow out a couple times, then boil in water for a few minutes, then another rinse and blow out. Does this sound like overkill? These atomizers were new, and used for 1 week each.

Well I took a Nano and soaked it in peroxide all day. I then gave it a good bath in water. I'm letting it dry for a day, then we'll see how well peroxide works ;)

Well... I think my Nano is good and clean... but I was getting a slight funky taste from it. Guess I didn't rinse it good enough. I may try this again with the next one.

Soaking and Rinsing is Great.

But the Only way to get Hard to Clean Baked on Funky Tastes off an Atomizer/Wick is Usually a Dry Burn.

As a person who always had ear problems as a child.... I've used hydrogen peroxide to clean my ears in the past. I know that it literally dissolves ear wax.

(If you take a Q-Tip with your ear wax already on it and pour some hydrogen peroxide on it, it will turn white again.) So with that logic, I put an atomizer I had used with concentrates into the HydroPeroxide and it didn't do anything. No bubbles... Not what I expected. I didn't see any discoloration in the water, so I don't know if it's working.
