LOL, sorry guys, I get so excited about trying new things. It is definitely the Evercool thread, I love this mod, and am sorry if I hijacked it for strange electronic discussions.

Sorry, didn't know the Evercool could only be made with the TI converter. We have a restriction on the other components?

tlocke, No problem... I love the new ideas; this thread has come a long way since I started it.

CapeCAD, since I am the one that started this thread… I thought it would be ok to comment to one of the original posters……WillyB ....how far this thread has come. If you read something else into my post….

It's all good, I'm just trying to keep the information flowing and help everyone understand the details and advantages of a switching converter over a linear regulator.

Would like to use a 4pos dip switch in place of pot, to make it easier to change volts.
If starting with a 357 resistor for 3.9volts and having 4pos dipswitch paralleled with a
12k resistor pos 1 to change output approx .1volt
6k in position 2 changing output approx .2volts and
3k in pos 3 & 4 should change output .4volts ea.
This should give you 12 different settings from 3.9 to 5volts
in .1 volt increments by varying the position of dip switches

I would like to use small 1/8 watt resistors and a switch like
Digi-Key - 450-1358-ND (Manufacturer - ADF0404)

This should work any thoughts :D

Madvapes is great!! Just got in my order and did some heavy duty soldering and got my PTR08100 done with a 50 ohm resister + 330 ohm resister total 0f 382 omh and a white 3 AA battery box with black 3A switch. It vapes well at 3.72v and its good looking too. but i did not add the 100uF 16v caps because i ran out last week and my order was delayed from freaking E-gay. Here some pics of snow white.

ooh and the black little rectangular thingy is a rubber stopper if i so happen to leave the switch on and the rubber peace helps it from not getting pressed in my pocket

The white one looks very sharp.... I like the idea of the stopper too.

I was wondering if anyone has thought of making this into a small form of say around the size of cr123's? I want to put this into a tube battery mod.

Cr123 are 17mm round the 14500 used in this are 14 mm round. Cr123 are shorter by about 15 mm. So i guess you could make a shorter but fatter mod with cr123's

I have seen a VV mod built in a 2AA box using w cr2's, so I'd say it could be done in a tube. Breaktru built a VV copper tube mod. Post pics when you're done :p
