I would not run the eVic below 1.5ohm. Especially if you are a heavy Vapor. The wires to the 510 connection are not evry heavy and may become damaged from excessive heat, failing over time.
eVic is designed for the everyday Vapor. for more Extreme vaping a Dedicated device might be a better idea. Like a good Mechanical Mod.

You won't get overheating problems if a proper battery is used. I'm chain-vaping a 1.2Ω genny right now as we speak on the eVic and it's at best mildly warm using an AW IMR 18650 battery. If I were to put back the stock flattop Samsung 2600 Li-ion battery it would get extremely hot. I have tested this with many different types of batteries, and the results are always the same.

The main problem I have noticed with low ohm vaping and the eVic is that the amps do not go much above 2.85 when using AW IMR batteries. This means that you could set the voltage all the way to 5.0, but it won't actually produce more than 3.3 - 3.7 volts.

Evic has already been tested to put out up to 5v actual with decent(IMR or Hybrid) batteries.
Voltage WILL be regulated by the ohms load on the Device.
Also HEAT comes from LOAD. that would be the device requiring, not supplying power.

I hear what you are saying. I appreciate your electronics experience.

What I'm saying is that nothing whatsoever in, on or around eVic control head gets hot, or even very warm when IMR batteries are used and you want to chain-vape at 1.2ohms with 28ga Kanthal wire. I remove the top connection interface ring and feel the metal drip well below ... it's barely warm. So, if there are any cautions about "overheating", then I'd like to know where this heat is in respect to the eVic. Yes, the load mounted above has a very hot top-cap, but that does not contact the eVic control head as there is a liquid tank between them.

I'm merely relaying what I have found by testing.

If in fact the full 5v are available, then it must be scaling back on the amps. Obviously mathematics say so. Nonetheless, I vape VW so I don't need to be concerned with all that, but made the above post for demonstration purposes for the OP.

Much clearer. Yes, good IMR batteries can handle much higher short loads without stressing. Most heat people feel is actually in the battery tube and is a result of the battery itself heating up. The eVic is just doing the transfer of current available.

Kind of wondering how well an MNKE battery would work with its 20a discharge.:D
