I've been using my eVic for about two weeks now with the Vivi Nova tank and had no problem. I just got a Protank yesterday and loving it until all of the sudden I get a dry draw. I looked and it said "Atomizer Short". My heart fell and didn't know what to do. I turned off the power and took the tank off. Put it back and it still said "Atomier Short" and I noticed that the ohms was at 0.5ohms. I had a 2.4ohms on.

I decided to take the eVic control head off and clean the juice with a tissue paper and clean off all the connections and then reassembled it back together. Power it back on and it detected everything as i should and works just like new now.

Anyone has any idea what happened? I'm thinking about cleaning the atomizer connector with some alcohol. Maybe the heavy VG caused the problem?

I do not think the type of liquid is the issue. Sometimes an atomizer gets out of resistance due to buildup on the coil. Have you cleaned the atomizer recently? I also use nova tanks. I rebuild the atomizers so I don't worry cleaning as much. You could soak the atomizers in high proof vodka overnight and then rinse and dry them.

The only time I ever got an atomizer short to date is when I made a low 1.0 OHM coil for my AGA-T. Even then it did fire occasionally.

Yeah, the first thing I did when I got home was cleaning the coil and did a dry burn to get rid of all the gunk. Haven't had the problem since. I totally agree with you now that it was probably all the gunk build-up that caused the head to missed detect the coil.

No, it was all the gunk that was causing the coil to start to short. The eVic alerted you to the potential problem. An eGo/generic might have gone Pop from the load.
