Hello ECF,

I'm curious how you charge your eVic's battery without overheating it. Whenever I plug my eVic into the wall charger, the "overheating bar" pops up. I have an 18650 Panasonic 2250 mah battery and was told to get this because overheating would not occur.

Keep in mind I live in California right now and the room temperature is probably around 75-80 degrees. All my eVic's settings are on default as well. Any ideas on how to not have my battery overheat? I don't want this new battery I purchased to burnout already.

Thanks,
Mark

I think it's actually normal unless your using the passthrough at the same time. That could cause some overheating your experiencing.
I would recommend trying to use the original battery that was with the eVic to begin with (Samsung ICR18650) because of the programming in the software.

Have you updated to the 1.2 firmware?
Have you tried adjusting the battery in the programming on the eVic itself? The option and update could definitely help in the charging and overheating situation you got.

I'm waiting on my own eVic to be delivered this week (Ordered today. . whoo hoo!). Once I get it in, I'm going to see if I can get the same issues you're getting. . .

mbutton - I'd do what crxess mentioned while you vape.

As for the charging, did you change the battery type (meaning the mAh) on the eVic? My battery for my MVP does get warm when I charge it, but it never gave me any issues. And I think the cutoff protection when using the micro-usb through the head unit shouldn't cause any problems. My friend has an evic, and stayed with the Samsung battery that came with it, and has had no problems, and he's still on the 1.1 firmware for it. I think the firmware was designed for those batteries in mind, but then they wouldn't have the change for the mAh in the 1.1 and 1.2 firmware. . . .(kind of a moot point now that I point it out myself  )

And I the cutoff protection when using the micro-usb through the head unit shouldn't cause any problems.

(I might keep an eye on this post, just to keep this in mind when mine get's in the mail.)

All batteries get warm during charging. Those on an external charger expel heat faster and only feel mildly warm. While charging still within the Tube heat is retained/reflected back and the tube/battery will feel warm. Nothing to be concerned about.

130F is not hot. It is simply unmanagable to humans. Equatorial areas near those temperatures often.
