when I put it im pocket I take whatever is on top off or I bring my twist with me and leave the eVic in the car

This times a million. This is what I do all the way down to using my twist.

gotta love the chinese...

Maybe they don't drop things or put breakable things in their pockets? I don't know just a guess.

I'm just curious how it not only came apart but both wires actually broke away from the PCB. I've seen a few drop damaged and all but one still had one or both wires attached.

well this was not a drop.. it was a careless act on my part pulling it out of my pocket. the wires on the thing are tiny and the solder they are connected to are not that solid either.

Well....this JUSTTT happened to my eVic as well. Like 3 minutes ago. But i dropped mine on my tile.

If you look closely on the circuit board, there is a + on the very top right side of the circuit board (when looking at the screen which means the button is behind the eVic from your POV) which indicates where the red wire goes, exactly in the same space except on the left side is where your black wire goes.

You will need a soldering kit. I had to open my second eVic that i kept with the plastic wrap on and use it for now until i borrow my friends soldering kit.

Sucks that the eVic is not drop friendly or pocket friendly. Gonna have to buy a case for it to carry it around :(

yes, Jazon1 posted a good picture of the insides that i am able to go off of and I'm about to solder it back together. but now that you mentioned it, i do see the plus and minus on either side of the board clear as day. feel alittle bad that i missed that. but luckily the co-op gave me an extra head, even though it is one of the recalled ones, it has saved me.

No offense to the OP but that definitely wasn't a "pocketable" setup, unless you were wearing and old pair of Jinco's from the 90's. And not too much of anything we use it "droppable". Something is bound to fail when it hits the floor. Smaller setups are just inherently smaller(less leverage) to break parts off and what not. So what we should really take away from this is dont put an full size eVic with a cartotank and an 4 inch drip top into your pocket.

My Provari has been dropped a great many times, from a great many heights onto very hard surfaces. Works fine. Most mechanical mods are the same; you can throw them around and they're fine.

I just worry that in the rush for VV/VW and "cheap", these Chinese devices are becoming more and more disposable.

Sounds more like "Being careful with your stuff FAIL" lol

Glad you got it fixed though

I have and evic and tend to treat it the same way I do my tablets, laptops, cellphones, etc. It is an electronic device, and I don't know many of them that are designed to be dropped, even from a few feet.

My provari, of course, survived the meteor that killed the dinos. Then rescued a kid from a burning building. I'd show you a pic but my provari is currently working on a cure for cancer

There is plenty of junk coming out of China. eVic is not in that group. First you look at a design, then you decide if you are willing to run with it. Provari is design specific. eVic is also Design Specific.

eVic sports a totally new LCD screen design. Yes it may eventually be upgraded to be more Human proof but it is Far from Cheap junk.

Well said. As much as I'd love to carry it around, I leave my Vamo at home and rock a Spinner on the go. The heft of the Vamo would make it easy as hell to fall out of my shirt pocket, not to mention it would probably rip the pocket after a while as well.

Maybe vapers need to start using these to safely hoist the bigger PV's around:

Mine has done none of that, but it has continued to work through rough use. I stopped worrying about it when I realized it didn't need to be babied. And I was responding to Jeremy's "not much is droppable" comment, not saying "get a provari".

I do worry though that the durability aspect isn't being addressed as well as it might. Agreed though, it has some nice innovations and seems like a nice piece of kit, if a bit fragile.

I'm with ya, I was just being my usual smart___ self. It's all in good fun - doesn't matter to me what anyone vapes, just don't smoke

Been looking at this from a modders and a customizers standpoint. Looking at screen size and required area for display it would be very difficult to solidify the eVic top. Not impossible, but probably pricey. Dual through post threaded from the bottom plate into the top would definitely help but still not make it bullet proof. The acrylic screen surround will always be a weak point and is not a simple fix due to required visible area for the display.

None of this makes me shy away from the eVic. I studied the design before buying, got (2) and use them according to my knowledge of their strengths and weakness.

My rule is simple - If I like it, can afford it and it keeps me off analogs I get it.:D
If I break it, I blame me and move on.:(
