Just bought it today from a local shop and it was working fine. It fires with no issues, but I cannot get to the menu. It's fully charged.

Took the battery out, held it down for 30 seconds etc.

Removed the top (with screen) and then it would not even turn on. Took the battery back out and now it fires, but still gives me the error "Sorry! Please Charge by USB port!" Also removed my tank, put it back etc.

I have seen others with the same error, but theirs does not even fire.

Version 1.2

MVR software cannot find it either.

It all started after I put the battery in my battery charger. The same one I use for my chuck.

Update: Taking it back. After taking it apart and putting it back together a few times, following the reset instructions on the site the screen is going crazy. Jumbled words, flashing, etc. Must have gotten a bad one or something.

Uninstall the MVR software and restart your computer, reinstall MVR and try again.

*edit*
Try running MVR in admin permission if using win 7.
Another possible fix from Psybernoid on UKV;
I had the same issue with the software when I (briefly) ran Windows 8
What I had to do was the following:

Run a command prompt as an administrator - tap the windows key and type cmd, then right click the command prompt shortcut and select 'run as administrator'

When in the command prompt, type cd c:\ to ensure you're at the root of your C: drive (this is presuming your system drive is C: and you've installed the MVR software as default)
Type cd "program files" or cd "program files (x86)" depending on where it's installed - include the quotes and hit enter.
Type cd "my vapor record" - include the quotes, and hit enter
Then type mvr.exe -1 and hit enter

You won't see anything actually happen, but plug your evic in and you should get a little pop-up.

You can exit the MVR software, plug your evic in, and it'll work again.
It'll work everytime until you reboot your PC/laptop, in which case just follow the steps again.
If you put your PC/laptop into sleep or hibernate mode, the software will still work.

Interestingly the MVR software bug doesn't manifest in 64-bit Windows 7, only Windows 8.

That made a slight difference. Windows 7.

It connects now, but the screen is completely black, no more error though! It still fires just fine.

Just going to take it back today and exchange it for another one.
