It does jump straight to .90 if i push the fire button and watch the screen. Weird thing is, the coil is not burning the cotton. Just incase, to what screw are you referring to?

Harry

By screw I was thinking about rebuildables.

The mod probably has the resistance 'locked' at 0.54, and when you press the fire button, then it actually measures resistance.

Is it correct that version 3 firmware allows the use of the 1.0 ohm heads for mouth to lung inhale on TC setting? I bought one from Ebay with the updated firmware and just want to make sure that what was posted about the mod using the 1.0 heads in TC is true. I did order the CLR heads at 1.0 and they did not way what wire is used. I am buying the toolkit to make coils soon and wire for 1.0 is my main goal.

Thanks.
Hi there. The stock 1.0 ohm CLR heads are kanthal so you will need to rebuild them them with SS wire for temp control. If you're aiming for a 1.0 ohm coil 28 gauge SS wire will get you there. I recommend using a 2.5mm rod to make a 7-8 wrap coil. The wraps should be slightly spaced. You don't want to use a smaller coil than 2.5mm or you can get poor wicking, and you can't easily fit more than a 7-8 wrap 28 gauge spaced coil in a CLR head.

That said, I highly recommend using 26 gauge wire instead of 28 gauge. The coils will come out around .5 ohms but the flavor will be nicer than 28g wire, the coils will be easier to rewick, and they will last a little longer. With the VTC Mini you can vape a .5 ohm SS coil at very cool temps and low watts, just like a higher ohm coil. Either wire should give you a nice mouth to lung vape.

If you can get a Coil Master it will make building your own coils a breeze. I have a cheap knock off set from China. Love it. ^_^

Excellent advice. Yes i am getting the cheap knockoff as well lol. Thanks so much for the info. I will be getting my stuff as soon as Ebay takes their fees out lol. Now, heres a question, is there a single coil sub ohm tank out that has RBA heads for SS316 mouth to lung or ANY MtL heads that can be rebuilt in SS?? A affordable tank that will be easier to rebuild MtL heads for TC use? I asked in another thread and got no responses. Theres so many out there.
Thanks for the info again will copy and paste this in a document.

You should pop over to the EHPro Bachelor RTA thread.
I'd be curious to hear if it fits your needs (postless single coil vs. RBA head).

I'm using mine DTL, so I can't comment on the MTL performance.
@Harryinny I cranked the airflow down on my Bachelor, and it sure feels like it would make you happy. I'm still on the coil they include from the factory, but it looks like it will be a great deck to build on.

Good to hear that.

I broke my MTL about a year ago, so all of my EVOD type stuff sits unused and everything I have is Sub Ohm DTL now. Just locking down the AFCs hasn't worked but a new high res build might.
I'd see if I could rehabilitate it if I knew a setup was good and any failure was mine alone.

I'd have to mix up stronger Nic recipes though. :p

Anytime Harry. :D The Lemo 2 is a good mouth to lung tank as long as you turn down the airflow. It's a full on rebuildable (no replaceable coils). It's an older tank but has really easy top fill and doesn't leak a drop. Unlike most newer tanks it doesn't have super open airflow so it's not a cloud tank. I run it with SS in TC only and have a 316L Clapton in it right now.

The Bachelor tank looks awesome but one reviewer said that it wouldn't work for mouth to lung here. Either way I'm dying to get one. I hope EHPro makes some in white or black soon.

And one or two in the thread here, one quite stridently, claims it's a better MTL tank.

Wide open, it's slightly restricted. Very much like my ST Nano.
Sorry, I don't have an ST Mini to compare, that would be a good benchmark.

But it's very accommodating of hefty coils which should make higher res easier.
And it has a nice juice flow control. And AFC of course.

I don't use mine MTL but I think it could function that way quite well.
And damn... it's a tasty tank. :)

Thanks (as always) for the excellent info Jim. I'm also a lung hitter who likes a bit of restriction. Really want to order one but I'm waiting to see if it comes out in a color. I know that's an awful reason to hesitate on a tank, but all of my mods are either black or white and with so many nice tanks around we can afford to be a little picky these days.

Honestly, if this tank gets a reputation for being leak proof I'll probably get one even if they don't make it in black or white.

Jury seems to be out on this. I've now shelved the 4 Crowns I have due to leaking with the RBA.
I have seen some say that they suffered leaks with the Bachelor. I'll wait until the included coil needs rewicking to see how it fares. For now though, it's a wonderful vape.

It's at the least well worth looking over the thread and comments.
Certainly different with its postless design, but top fill and the rest made it a must try.

There might be a v2 (and colors?) since it has rather large oblong juice holes.
I need a few more builds, but haven't had any wicking problems yet.
And I haven't exactly kept it a secret how bad I am at that. :p

Got a big honkin' 10+ wrap of 24g 316SS at 0.6 right now... so nice.

I have seen the leaking comments but I take them with a grain of salt. It may be a building issue or a tank design issue. It doesn't seem all that clear yet but it could easily be a build issue (too small of a coil, coil placed too low, not enough cotton, etc.). Hopefully the early adopters will figure it out. My serpent doesn't leak, but it's a little tricky to build on and has a few other quirks. It's great to see more single coil RTAs hitting the market.

I use a Crown tank daily with the RBA and haven't had a leak in months. If I top fill the thing it's almost certain to leak. Sadly, the RBA makes it a bottom fill only tank for the way I build it (2.5mm SS Clapton coil with Scottish roll wicking).
