Or you are using too high of an initial wattage. It takes time for a mod to stabilize the temp. Too high of an initial power surge will overshoot the desired temp, depending upon the wire used.

And once the coil cools below temp threshhold it will pulse again to the higher temperature. Energy requirement for a phase change from liquid to gas is high enough to moderate this so it isn't an issue in practice. Personally, if I was developing a ∆TCR device I wouldn't tune it to do its job on dry cotton. This is just another reason why testing "to see if your TC works" on dry cotton is poor testing methodology.

Bought some SS and some Ti, and did the dry cotton test with the TC modes for both. Both of them fail and burn the cotton. How is that possible? I tested first with 0.6 Ohm coils (for both SS and Ti), 200°F (minimum) and 30W, and it burned. Then I follow pbusardo vídeo and tested with the same settings and burned again, more quickly (in pbusardo vídeo the cotton dont goes on fire , my did).

Im really disapointed with this..

What Brand/kind of SS and Ti? I notice that all Ti grade1 his the different TCR. I have Sweetspot, Spidersilk and same chinese fastech Tigr1 all awg26.

UD 316L SS and ThunderHead Creations Ti . Both good stuff, I thing. But I tested with 30w, 200°F so I thing the different brand isnt the problem..

The sweetspot titanium isn't grade 1.

Can I ask where you found this info out? I like to order some SS wire to build dual coils. I ordered a VTC Mini from MFS on the black friday sale. Also I ordered one of the new Herakles Plus tanks from VapeNW with a pack of the 316L SS coils to give it try. I never used SS or Ti and my old SnowWolf won't ever recognize the Ti and jump out of TC.

Can you or anybody recommend where is a good place with fast delivery to order a spool of SS wire? And what gauge do you find best for dual coil builds?

Anybody have a Herakles Plus yet with there SS coils and how well has it worked on the VTC Mini?

I do see alot of people saying they prefer SS in power mode over TC. I don't have a preference on what mode to use, although I use Kanthal and NiCh80 about 90% of the time. Have only found a good TC build on my SW200 with a twisted 28G Ni200 3mm dual coils in a Velocity at 70W 500F.

Currently using 316ss 26g twisted, 7 wraps, 2.5mm id comming in at 0.3 ohms, ifbI run it in TC mode its usually 230deg at 45 watts but mainly run it in power at 40watts using a kanger subtank plus using a thickish fruit juice, or I run a bellus tank, dual coil kanthal 26g, 7/8 wraps, 2.5 ish id coming in at 0.4 abd power mode at 45-50 watts using a thick coffe juice, I find SS on power mode will given more heat/satisfying hit for me before giving a burnt/dry hit than using tc mode,

I hadn't picked up my eVic Mini in a long time lke 2 months long time. It's just been sitting with the firmware that came on it. I updated it to the new 2.0. As I was looking at the screen my OCD got to me. There is a small light coming through the right side from the board only in one spot. It is annoying the living heck out of me I took a picture just to show what I am talking about. I know it is a cheap enough mod but stuff like that just messes with my OCD disease Anyone else notice somthing similar?

This has happened to me once in a while, not every time though. Mostly on a pretty fresh coil if i remember correctly, though that probably hasn't got much to do with it. A simple reset and relock fixes it though. Makes sense though, if i locked the resistance in the house and spend some time outside with a drastically different temperature the resistance is bound to change and mess up its calculations.

I believe everyone is looking to use only Gr1 medical grade Ti for coils. There are questions as to whether Sweet Spot is lower quality Ti.

No light going through anywhere it's not supposed to for me with upgraded firmware.

Hmmm i upgraded the firmware to 2.0 and now it freezes at times when pushing the fire button. I have to let go and give it a few seconds then try again. Anyone else with this issue?

Yep, screen just blacks out, or in the middle of a fire it just shows the display as if you weren't but it is firing. Ive ended up going back one version, it still has SS support just no puff or time counter

Bought my evic vtc a couple of days ago and I'm running into the dreaded anemic vape problems in temp control! Worked flawlessly for 24 hours and then just messed up out of the blue - settings were not changed and were locked, same coil, same everything. I'm using the tron tank and have tried both the ti and nic coils. How can it just stop working properly? Was a solution found?
