Bought my evic vtc a couple of days ago and I'm running into the dreaded anemic vape problems in temp control! Worked flawlessly for 24 hours and then just messed up out of the blue - settings were not changed and were locked, same coil, same everything. I'm using the tron tank and have tried both the ti and nic coils. How can it just stop working properly? Was a solution found?

As i've suggested before, try letting the coil cool to room temperature, unlock resistance, remove battery, put battery in, re lock resistance. It worked for me and others :)

There is no known cure if its what i experienced. Which is what you sound like you have...the resistance is probably dropping after sleep/power off, hence the anaemic vape

Doing the tank off, reset, tank back on (probably every time you want to vape like mine made me do), will drive you insane, which is why i returned my 2 Minis and got a TreeBox, which has worked flawlessly for over 2 weeks, much longer than the Minis did

You have only have a limited time to return it, sure you can hang on to it and hope that an update fixes it, but the super secret beta firmware i was given and not allowed to talk about was suspiciously dodgy and seemed to be customised just for my specific resistance drop range, another memeber here had a similar expereince with the super secret firmware they were sent. All added up to me not trusting JoyeTech and never wanting to buy from them again.

In ti mode now, needs to be set to 550 for a decent vape - that's not right is it? Wasn't set anywhere near this high before. Also, resetting and removing the tank doesn't seem to make any difference for me.

ok check it one last time.

if it still persist have it replaced asap.

no amount of fiddling around wll cure it
mine was luckily fixed running on very hot temps for a few weeks

as far as updates would go,none of which fixed it.

Hi Ken. Thanks for the heads up! Can you elaborate a bit more on the subject? Thanks!
They claim that it's grade 2 which goes through some magical process to make it comparable but better than regular grade 1 titanium. @druckle, who's a metallurgy expert, has told us that what Sweetspot claim about the wire is impossible, so they're lying in order to fool customers.

Thanks, Ken! I misunderstood your original post. I thought you were saying that G1 Ti wasn't the sweet spot for our purpose. I didn't realize that SweetSpot was a brand name. Darned noobs... :D

So. My VTC M is out for delivery ( :rickroll: ). I will be using it primarily as a VW device until I get all TC supplies together and start experimenting.

Has anyone found "sweet spots" in resistance for 304 SS, TiGr1 or Ni200? Is there better performance/accuracy with higher/lower res builds, etc? Learning this will determine what gauge wire I get. I'm particularly looking for insights regarding the VTC M but relevant experience with other mods would be great too.

Does anyone know of a supplier where I can get 6-10' samples of all three wires? I have roughly 500' of KA1, in various gauges, lying around the house. I don't want 100' of one wire type if I'm only ever going to use 5 feet of the stuff. Understand?

Hey guys maybe you can help me. I got some 26awg 316 ss wire. The set it up is dual coil 7 wraps each....2.5mm diameter. Came in at 0.3 ohms. I have the newest version of VTC 75 watts which has ss mode. However, it immediately throws me out of ss mode and into power mode as soon as i fire it up. Is the wire I got the problem or the VTC is off? BTW I tried to vape it a low temp in Ti mode and the same thing happened...threw me out of Ti mode. I have tried Ti wire and Ni wire in this mod and they both work perfectly well.

0.3 ohms is close to the TC threshold drop a wrap and try to keep your build between 0.15-0.25 for best results in TC

I'm assuming (and we all know what can happen there...) that the sweet spot for TC on the VTC Mini is 0.2Ω for Ni200 and 0.4Ω for TiGr1. Why am I making these assumptions? Because that's the resistance Joyetech designed their TC heads to be. Now, if they would share a bit more info about the SS TC capabilities, I would be a happier camper... I would guess, given that the SS TC functionality was tuned to 304SS, that the sweet spot there would be approximately 0.5Ω. But that is purely a guess.

from Joyetech site:
Resistance Range: 0.05-1.0ohm for VT mode (.05-.06-.07-.08-.09-.1-.2-.3-.4-.5-.6-.7-.8-.9-1.0)
Resistance Range: 0.1-3.5ohm for VW/ Bypass mode

VTC is probably fine {doing its job}
best bet is, device is savin your bacon
there is something wrong, re-check your coil... JMO

have read the whole thread but any1 else have a lose 510 and tanks not sitting flush

The 510 in our VTC M is actually attached to the PCB not the enclosure. It kind of acts as a nut, holding the atty securely to the mod. If the male 510 is a bit long, your atty may wiggle a bit. Check to see that the floating pin is actually floating and not stuck. Maybe then you can snug up your atty. If you can't snug it up, I would be concerned about the 510 connection to the PCB.

Good luck!

its an stmini tank and no issues w.it on other mods.
pin does float, ive have tightened down as much as i could but it wont touch the mod body.
i didnt know the 510 was connected directly to the board, damn, not worth shipping it for warranty imo, maybe time to take it apart and see what i can do if anything.

edit just found vid on teardown and 510 fix, fingers crossed , havent watch vid yet.

Interesting. My STM snugs down but barely...

There are pics and videos in this thread showing disassembly. Let us know how you make out!

Good luck!

Read back a few pages. This was a problem on 2 vtc's I had. I got rid of them for a Treebox and those same ss builds work perfectly on it. If you can still return it then I'd suggest doing so.

The same problems are popping up more and more in this thread.
